“what are you looking at?” natasja was still stuffed into the giant dress, she felt awful and all of this was a mistake. it had to be. the seventh glass of whiskey had told natasja this was all just another one of her nightmares. she’d wake up in tokyo and everything would be fine, “if you’re just going to stare, get another drink. it’s less tacky if i’m not alone, and - technically - it’s on me.”

“ Now that you’ve agreed, you can’t change your mind. ” Without giving the other person another second to think about it, Helena grabs their hands, dragging them out into the sun. After the weekend they had — funeral and a coronation, enough to send anyone into a fritz of contradictory emotions, Sunday finally came out along with a gentle golden sun. Perfect day to go museum hopping.

just a month after the passing of one king, but not nearly as unexpected as the one before, news that the king of iceland was no longer alive travelled and reached the world fast. royals soon got the invitations to attend the funeral in reykjavik at the hallgrímskirkja church on saturay morning.

☾ ° › BELOVED DUST

it should be an eventful day as, with the invitation to the funeral, royals also received another one to the coronation of his majesty’s son, to celebrate the beginning of a new reign in iceland. celebrations that would happen the night of the funeral. attendees were offered stay in a hotel and a banquet to follow the ceremony.

this event will commence on the 19th of august and ends on the 25th.

royals will arrive in iceland on friday night and leave on monday morning.

you can choose to write about the reception post funeral, the coronation or the free day activities on sunday.

It felt too soon, to have attended another funeral. Yet here he was, post-reception for one of his closest friends. That’s what friends did, didn’t they? Show up in times when support was needed? No matter how that support was needed. He stood in a corner, a shadow of his former self, holding onto a drink for dear life. “Sorry, sorry. I just need another couple of these and I’m sure I’ll have a snarky remark or two.”

the future raj of rajasthan, yuvraaj rohan talwar, wore a traditional royal outfit, inclusive of the headdress, with modifications ( it is missing the sword, the belt sash thing, the shawl and very many jewels ) to the coronation. he wore a simple black suit for the funeral. the beard is because it’s ICEland and he’s annoying. 

princess nadezhda “nadya” romanova at the coronation, and a wave tiara, she also wore a simple and regal black dress to the funeral that might have shown too much leg if she wasn’t also wearing sheer black stockings. ya’ll know what she’s like by now use your imagination.

grand duke of rhine otto kaspar zielcke attends the coronation in dress uniform. i took evy’s advice (thank u evy) and went with some random ‘fit. we are going to pretend they reflect the colours yellow, black, green and red, and have rhine’s coat of arms. he skipped the funeral because it was a grossly long flight, he doesn’t fly well and was feeling absolutely horrible even though they arrived the night before.

Coronations were always hit or miss for Nikolai, it really depended upon what he wanted to accomplish while there. This go around, he figured he might as well let a little loose... just not too loose. He still had to uphold an image, after all. It had been a while since he’d attended one with an underlying somber tone, but here he was. “Is it what you expected?”
