How about TobiIzu/HashiIzu angst where each of them thinks Izuna is better off with the other and so neither makes a move?
I like this one. Haven’t really thought of it. Anyway,
Hashirama and Tobirama’s brotherly love for each other is something that people could not describe in words. I feel like it’s Tobirama who’d fall for Izuna first, because the two are rivals of each other.
Hashirama, only meets Izuna whenever he’s with Madara, because Izuna sometimes or maybe always comes with him. He probably grew fond of Izuna’s presence and realized his feelings for him as well.
So, the problem for the two brothers is, they like one person. Uchiha Izuna.
The tension is there, both brothers will eventually find out but will not be vocal about it at first. After all, they wouldn’t let a boy just ruin their relationship, right?
Hashirama thinks his brother deserves Izuna more, thinking that Tobirama also needs someone to soften him up aside from Hashirama. And despite making that up in his mind, he couldn’t help but still be hurt by how selfless he is going to act. Sure, Hashirama cares about his younger brother very much, but he’s found love and affection in Izuna that he’s been longing for. But this is all for his brother, so he had no choice but to just avoid Izuna. And that’s rather a hard decision to make.
Tobirama doesn’t think he deserves Izuna. He thinks that Izuna sees him as his rival, nothing more. He would probably only embarrass himself by making a move that shows an ounce of affection to his considered ‘enemy’.
Izuna would definitely find out at some point, both their worries and love for him. He’s troubled as well, not knowing how to solve this. Hashirama would always accompany him, asking him how he is feeling every now and then. But now, he ignores him, and Izuna doesn’t know why. Is he upset? Does he think differently of the Uchiha clan now? No, it couldn’t be. Because Hashirama still talks to Madara, and specifically only ignores Izuna. That made the Uchiha worry.
He’d also notice how Tobirama would interact with him less. Whenever they’re on the battlefield, Tobirama would look for another Uchiha to spar with, ignoring his usual enemy. And they’re more awkward now. It’s really overwhelming.
But then there it was, the time where the two would talk to each other about their growing affection for Izuna. Hashirama would say that he supports Tobirama, and he is willing to get the two with each other, only caring for his brother. Meanwhile, Tobirama wouldn’t know how to react. As said earlier, he doesn’t think he deserves Izuna, nor even his love.
Madara knows how hurt his brother is, seeing him worried and very bugged after Izuna sees the two. Hashirama is the first one that Madara talks to, because he’s the easiest and the closest to him. Neither would want Izuna to be hurt.
In the end, the best thing that they had come with unspokenly is to ignore Izuna. Hashirama got married and Tobirama focused on his duties as the new Hokage of the leaf.
