it's weird to get over someone who you thought you never would and how your relationship to songs you had connected to them changes. showing my age here but i knew i was genuinely over my ex when i could listen to we belong together by mariah carey without feeling like someone put a block of concrete on my chest. it's just a song now and that's weird in a way because if you love someone and that love is or becomes unrequited you kinda turn them into a god a bit and loving them/missing them feels like it's a part of you - but it's not. fleabag priest was right, it'll pass.
