thinking about the dynamic/parallels between Himeko and Asat Pramad.

we could say that technically, he's not the "real" Ryusuke, because he isn't, but he's the only Ryusuke that Himeko has ever known. he raised her. except, did he? if he's telling the truth, and the Himeko we know really is an imagenae, he didn't raise her at all. he raised Himeko, but not the Himeko we know. which makes Ryusuke's behavior even MORE fascinating because he still treats this Himeko like his daughter, buying all her merchandise and praising her to other people, including the other Lord Ravagers.

on the other side of this, Himeko treating him like her father is so compelling if she turns out to truly be an imaganae. their dynamic fascinates me because it's essentially two people who don't know each other trying their best to fulfill the role they're expected to play in each other's lives. which is kind of estranged father and daughter core anyway lmao

Asat Pramad is actually unhinged. First he adopts and fucks with some random (dead iirc) baby, and THEN HE IMPERSONATES THAT GIRLS DESCENDANTS DAD???

Its insane. He both fits and in no way fits elation in a paradoxical manner and honestly i do love him as a villain. Hes really fucking enjoyable.

The weathering curse being derived from Destruction isnt a surprise for me. I mean it was obvious that its source was Asat Pramad. (Honestly my main thought goes back to it’s similarities to ELS still..) and ngl, it kinda reminded me of Flame Reaver’s fading away upon passing the coreflames to Phainon/Khaslana. I just was so focused on the Firefly similarities i forgot to bring it up lmao.

As for Himeko…

Yeah its gotta be fucking with her that she was raised by a Lord Ravager. (And yes im ignoring the dual-himeko bs for now, i have other thoughts on that)

Like. Cause you just know that some part of her is still gonna be upset that he was absent right? Asat-suke was still the only dad Himeko ever knew. Literally.

Himeko’s also probably a little bit fucked up about how easily the guy took to TB in particular. (Iirc, she’s also unaware that TB had to face Asat as well…) Like, genuinely, Asat Pramad blatantly had the most interest in TB over everyone else…

Oh also poor Graphia. Not only is her ‘father’ a fucking lord ravager, but the madman literally fucking ended up impersonating her descendants dad. Thats actually insane.

Asat Pramad is a madman, and DAMN he’s a good villain. Entertaining as well.

But i will keep dragging his name through the mud, because SERIOUSLY JUST LOCK IN AND ACTUALLY BE A PRESENT FATHER.

The most villainous thing about him is how realistically of a bad dad they made him. Like genuinely the bastard kept triggering my daddy issues and i cannot wait to kill his ass…

So, Asat Pramad is a girls dad?

Because he was the one who made Graphia what she became. Using her, yes, and being disappointed when she decided to do something else (Helping Astral Express back eras ago). But he was the catalyst.

Then, he'd raised Himeko, and looks like he was committed to the role, despite being often away, destroying other worlds.

I liked his opinion about art and the necessity to make something that shows beautiful things, capturing their light and essence in a painting. Because ugly and disgusting things will be present and endure all the time, we don't need to leave witness of their existence.

If we think he didn't at least try to be a good dad, we are blind.

His interviews in Furbo Magazine are hilarious. Man is really a twisted version of Elation.

I'm mentally getting ready for more family drama. Or at least a glimpse of it.

weird consequence of the gacha model is that the most suspicious characters are the ones who don’t do anything. Nihilux, Kuchiba, Rysuske. Guys, I know this story is at least in part an advertisement. None of you would be here if Shaoji hadn’t thought of a reason for it. Especially Kuchiba, like, what do you mean you’re a citizen with a regular job and normal hobbies and no relationships to any playable character? Girl we know they wouldn’t have made you look this pretty and taken time to establish your character if you weren’t important somehow

Do you think Asat Pramad grieved when (he thought) Himeko had died? Do you think he somehow knew some version of Himeko was alive? Do you think he didn't really care?

it is sincerely fascinating how i keep seeing people genuinely believing that Asat Pramad cared for Himeko as more than a game.

And i think part of it is that these people actually have good relationships with their fathers… or at least a better one than I do.

Even before the reveal, i fucking hated Asatsuke.

He was using pure emotional manipulation against Himeko the entire time. Im being serious. The whole ‘woe is me, this poor father that I am, you never came back to tell me you’re alive…” yeah so like. He entirely neglected her actually, and acting like that is basically an attempt to erase his abuse. (Which neglect is, to be clear. So is the emotional manipulation. Which from the looks of it, was probably Asatsuke’s go-to with Himeko growing up.)

And it is in fact made significantly worse by the fact that Himeko was ill. And without a second parent.

Asatsuke had zero right to act like he was the one wronged. He had no right to be upset over Himeko’s anger towards him. He knows this. He acts that way anyways, because its all a game to him.

“But he-“ so fun fact! Abusive parents can still act like good or normal parents. This doesnt erase the abuse.

And again, yes, neglect is abuse. Asatsuke was not present, frequently, and for years at a time. These werent little trips, these were full on absences, where a terminally ill child was left wholly alone without any parental support.

Himeko’s reaction to him- the anger and then the almost reluctant acceptance of his presence? The vague hope that maybe it will actually be different this time?

Those are arguably the abuse-responses she’s ended up having. Alot of the time, particularly with neglect, there is still a hope that maybe this time it will be different. Maybe this time it will be better. It almost never is.

Anyways, our Himeko doesnt have the same parental ‘bond’ though. If anything, her response to Asatsuke being a bastard himself, is because she’s still trying to be the original Himeko. She knows about Asatsuke secondhand, from og Himeko. And considering the fact we know that og Himeko was both younger and more hopeful from the looks of it? She probably had a kind pov on him than our Himeko.

But again, Himeko is trying to push her own feelings of likely genuine hatred or something akin to that, and keep in line with how the og Himeko would be.

On the topic of the two Himekos.. yeah so the whole like ‘caretaker’ ‘motherly’ vibes our Himeko has to her?

You know how imagenae are created from wishes, right?

The weathering curse is sourced from him. From the Destruction. Which he is an emanator of. He could have cured her if he actually cared at all. He doesnt. He never did.

She was a game to him. I mean ffs, the guy literally says that he’s figured out why he did it because of the look on Himeko’s face.. because playing the role of her father and then absolutely wrecking her was FUN.

Asat is insane, and he is going all in on the manipulation. And holy shit so many people are falling for it???

I was predisposed to not trust Asatsuke from the get go - both because of external knowledge on Ryusuke being an antagonist in hi3… and because i have daddy issues myself. But seeing so many people genuinely fall for the words of a literal Elation-Destruction maniac?? Wow.

ok so I was wrong about Himeko not having a social media account

but also Ryusuke is so pathetic about his daughter ToT imagine getting called out about filial piety by a guy who's biologically incapable of having parents. I'm fairly sure he won't be an antagonist, exactly, but I don't think the Alien Space manga means nothing, either. I've got a nagging suspicion he's going to be brainwashed or otherwise used against Himeko.
