I tried to write the personality as close to his canon self as I could.
Honestly...one of the most confusing and complicated characters to deal with, I'd say.
Serious trust issues and paranoia towards both humans and monsters. He has this fear that everyone might be plotting against him behind his back. Because of that, it would take months or years of friendship for him to trust you enough to think about a relationship.
His reaction to getting compliments are usually either disbelief, doubt or anger and you really need to choose the right words to not make him feel worse about it.
He has problems showing emotions even if we assume he's not in the Underground or in his au anymore. That being said, he's not always this stoic and apathetic character that doesn't know how to be kind to his partner at all. Sans knows how to show emotions, he has his moments of being sweet, but it really depends on his mood.
He doesn't mind being flirted with, and usually reacts positively or laughs. Though his own attempts at flirting are awkward.
He prefers holding hands or spending quality time with you rather than talking his feelings out.
He's a "show, don't tell" kind of guy. In a safer environment, he will show his affection towards you by doing favors, remembering things about you, maybe buying things for you... and if we assume you're in the Underground he will show that love by protecting you and making sure you eat... and (I'm sorry) force feeding you if you refuse to eat.
