Do mimics count as animals, or would there be a whole separate thing they'd be called that angels also probably would be? I keep thinking they're like those bacteria/viruses that are technically a little bit alive, a little bit not, because they have a similar situation where they can't count as alive, but they also have to count as alive. Are mimics bacteria???
Mimics are mimics and angels are angels; I think they defy human terms or attempts to categorise them tbh. Just as conflicting as they are to describe, so are they to study and nail down in terms of biology. Mark keeps a journal with his findings on mimics, but even then it's not very scientific - just a collection of things he's noticed, recountings of encounters, and even just thoughts about the possibilities. M!Cesar is also just bad at describing how he's able to do things, so he's not much use to ask. It's all instinctual for him and he's never had the means or motivation to question it, you know?
It's still interesting to think about though!
