Could john theoretically return to the isles or did nergal in his infinite shitlordiness put a magical restraining order on his ex?

He technically could return but. He really does not want to. That relationship was not good and it ended in fire.

And there would be no purpose for him to do so. He returns and he risks getting trapped again or perma killed. He is able to fight back in some way when he’s where Nergal and the curse cannot touch him. It’s difficult and at times feels impossible but at least it’s something.

Anyways, Nergal didn’t expel him just to get him away. He expelled him so he would blab about the “immortality island” and get people to trapped there. Not that getting people trapped there has ever been Johns intention but…no publicity is bad publicity. The Isles are brimming with livestock now, John has served his purpose in Nergals eyes.

John has been trying to warn people about it and get help to stop it. But it doesn’t always go the way he plans. Everyone seems to have their own agenda that they use this information for much to his frustration.

so, i know i'm only adding on to the pile of asks, but i wanted to ask this before i forget: are the happy tree friends allowed to physically age or are they immortal or is more like, they can physically age but by the time they hit old age they will stay that way until the end of time. and are ppl like John still out there in the isles?

So those on the Isles can technically age. HOWEVER every time that they die they reset to how they were the day they became part of the Isles. If you somehow manage to skate by without being brutally murdered on the Isles, you could theoretically grow to a ripe old age. But then you would die and, more than likely, be revived back to your starting point.

But this is highly unlikely. If you’re on the Isles, Nergal is aware of your presence. All livestock must do their part to keep the lake filled.

Now as for John.

John is the the only one to ever escape the Isles. This is not out of luck or wits. He was expelled off the Isles.

Nergal refused to go into hibernation again. They needed to replenish the Isles with fresh residents, and they needed them fast. So Nergal had a plan, he spared John and used the currents to push him out into the outside world.

They say that word of mouth is the best form of advertisement. Nergal knew that John was not gonna be silent. He’s will try and warn anyone who will listen to him of the horrors of the Isles.

Well, luckily for the trio, there’s no such thing as bad publicity. Shortly after Johns expulsion and with the slate wiped clean, new people started getting ensnared in the Isles web. And soon the Isles we’re full of residents once again.

John is still alive. He started to age the moment he was out of the Idols range, but it’s only been 20-25 years, so he’s still kicking. He’s doing what he can on the outside.

He may be off the Isles, but some parts of him still linger. His story isn’t over yet.
