okay i need to rant like genuinely

happy tree friends rant — flippy and fliqpy

CAN PEOPLE UNDERSTAND THE FUCKING DIFFERENCE BETWEEN FLIPPY AND FLIQPY .

GENUINELY . i HATE the people who say that they’re the same, THEY’RE NOT . NOT IN THE SLIGHTEST ARE THEY THE SAME .

flippy has ptsd (from war), but it is not what causes fliqpy to exist . flippy has a personality disorder, whether stated so or not

it’s a poor, poor representation of a personality disorder that even goes completely unstated, but flippy absolutely has one, and that’s why fliqpy exists . i wouldn’t want to call it an “alter ego”, because that feels utterly disrespectful tbh .

there are SO many things that differentiate the two, but people still fucking say they’re the same . stop it . JUST BECAUSE THEY ARE IN THE SAME BODY DOES NOT MAKE THEM THE SAME GODDAMN PERSON .

flippy — he’s kind, thoughtful, sociable, a bit quiet, sweet and genuine, and he doesn’t like violent things, rather cutesy things and happy things . he has a happy smile and a regular bucktooth as everyone else does, and a soft, high pitched voice

fliqpy — he’s EXTREMELY violent, uncoordinated, has loads of animosity, cannibalistic / a cannibal, and he likes violent things, and he also hallucinates everyone as the opposing party he’d have fought in war (also not his fault) . he has a menacing sharp-toothed smile with yellow-green eyes and a malevolent laugh and deep voice, often growling and screaming

tell me in what way these two are the fucking same, go on, tell me . that’s right . they’re not .

so can people STOP saying that they ARE the same ?? they’re not even close in the slightest and in fact, FLIPPY is afraid of flipping out, he DOESN’T want to HURT OTHERS, but FLIQPY does because he sees them as ENEMIES FROM WAR .

fuck off with the bullshit that they’re the same person when they’re NOT .

personal opinion here,, i find people having obsessions with htf characters weird.. not like "omg i love this character sm!!" but to the point you say ur married to them and r talking abt em like they r your partner.. plus the fact they kinda r like... animals.. or close to animals.. very close.. yeah maybes just me.. tho on the orher side i find people shipping their ocs w canon characters cool.. cause like.. both animal thingys yeah.. thanks for coming to me awkward ted talk

HTF rant

I love Happy Tree Friends and all but I wish the creators did a bit more research on PTSD and DID (not to mention OCD for Petunia) before writing Flippy :(

The way Flippy is portrayed is horrible rep for those who suffer from DID and PTSD. It stereotypes those with the disorders as “murderous and dangerous” when most of them really aren’t. Yes some of them are violent but not as bad as it’s portrayed in Happy Tree Friends.  Say I’m looking too far into it for a show that’s literally just about cute animals being brutally murdered but my point still stands. As far as I’m concerned the only mental issue they wrote correctly (at least it was relatable for me as someone with anxiety) was Flaky and their anxiety.

Edit; scratch that. The anxiety is a stereotype too.
