So, a while back a Google Chrome user created an extension that disabled HTML5 videos that auto play on any given website despite the presence of ad blockers or other applications.
I’ve only just found out about it and intended on using it because I’m fucking tired of auto play videos that can’t be bypassed. But, apparently, the user’s extension was targeted by webmasters who took issue with the fact that his extension prevented videos from auto-playing.
Now the extension has been rendered null and void. It’s no longer maintained, but for whatever reason Chrome keeps it on its store page??? In either case, it’s frustrating because no one has created a replacement and you can’t right click the HTML5 supported videos and use ad-block to disable it.
