Never Lose What You Write Again
Whether it's a 500 word article for a travel blog, a school paper, or a novel, there is nothing worse than losing what you've written when your desktop editor or computer freezes. There is already plenty to think about while writing, worrying about losing your work shouldn't be one of them.
At WriteOn, we believe writing tools should increase productivity, so we've built an in-browser editor that guarantees to never lose a single letter typed - ever... yes, seriously!
We know... sounds too good to be true. That's why we want to explain how it works.
Local Storage
Without diving too deep into the tech-y stuff, we'll explain how the browser's Local Storage will be every writer's new "behind-the-scenes" best friend.
"Simply put, [Local Storage is] a way for web pages to store named key/value pairs locally, within the client web browser." [read more](http://diveintohtml5.info/storage.html "Dive Into HTML5 - Local Storage")
Wait... What?!
Alright, that's enough of the super tech-y talk. Here is what's going on...
When WriteOn loads for the first time, storage is created in your browser that remains there even after you refresh the page, close the tab, or shut down the browser. You can even shut down your computer and the storage will still be around. From there on out, your stories are continuously auto-saved to that storage located in your browser.
Local Storage is available for almost any browser, including most mobile browsers, so no matter what device you're using, you can have peace of mind knowing that your work will be safe and secure in WriteOn.
TL;DR
Here's the skinny: WriteOn keeps your stories secure so that you will never, ever lose anything you write again.
Want to try it for yourself? Simply go to WriteOn and create an account. Once you add a new story, begin writing then close the tab or quit the browser. That's it... all must be lost?! Might as well toss the computer out of the window, right? Before you do, log back into WriteOn and revel in all your non-lost writing glory.
