Hey guys so I know a film/series adaptation of the httyd books would never happen but a girl can dream so here is my dream cast for that:

Ok so this might be a bit controversial but I'd actually love this casting so much

Stoic as....

David Tennant! I know he doesn't have the Stoic build but I think his voice acting makes up for it like imagine him in a massive ginger wig it would be awesome.

Gobber as....

Doovid Toonant

I think Doovid is a great fit for Gobber as you can see in this picture he is great at yelling, and also a really underrated actor.

Hiccup as...

Davidé Tenné

This guy is already French so he can do Hiccup's french speaking and the ginger hair is a perfect fit. I know he looks a bit older than 10 but CGI can do anything these days so no hate please.

Camicazi as....

Dellina Tennont

Tell me that smirk doesn't give Camicazi it's perfect. Dellina just needs a big blonde wig and she's there.

Fishlegs as...

Doovid Teenie

I mean come on this is self explanatory guys

Alvin as...

Delvid Tannent

I think he would play an amazing villain given the chance!

Maybe he would be good for book 2 but after Delvid could take over for when Alvin is a bit more twisted.

The Witch as...

She looks weirdly similar to both of my Alvin picks imo and although she often plays nicer roles I think she could really pull this off.

I feel like sometimes people who are unfamiliar with the httyd books don’t realize how wildly different they are from the movies. I love recommending them to people bc they’re always like “oh yeah, I loved those movies, maybe I’ll check out the books” and it’s like oh ho ho. I don’t think you understand my friend. In the movies, hiccup becomes a chief at the age of 20. In the books, hiccup becomes a king (yes, a king, with an absolutely massive fucking kingdom) at the age of fourteen. In the movies, toothless is a terrifying and rare, albeit sweet and cute, average sized dragon. In the books, toothless starts out tiny and literally toothless, but turns out to be a sea dragon that lives hundreds of years and grows to be ridiculously enormous. In the movies, snotlout is an arrogant but ultimately good hearted side character. In the books, snotlout is hiccup’s cousin who eventually is complicit in the enslavement of his entire tribe, usurps stoick as chief, and eventually dies with a flaming arrow in his chest as part of his redemption arc. Like....the books are just a teensy bit different from the movies.

In the books Snotlout is Hiccup’s cousin, though in the movies his father doesn’t have the same last name as Stoick’s, who is Hiccup’s father. Furthermore, can I just say their feuding yet protective nature is almost that of a brotherly nature, yet they are not family as they still act professional among the village, and again, the different last names.

Can we headcannon that Snotlout is Hiccup’s cousin and Spitelout is Valka’s big brother making him Hiccup’s uncle and Stoick’s In Law please? I need this.
