That had been the point in coming here for the weekend, to some cabin in the woods that could be rented for a reasonable price. There is warmth, and there is a mug of tea in Paul’s hand. Two mugs, actually. One for him, and one for the man watching the snow by the window. (There had been a third, but it’s already been given to Mutt.) He steps next to Hugh, offering him the mug as he leans over to press a kiss to his cheek. “Penny for your thoughts?” (hi adam i was having Feelings)
there’s a mumbled thank you as hugh accepts both the mug and the kiss to his cheek. paul had always been endearing, especially so in these private moments of their’s, where guards could be let down and expectations tucked away, which they were even more so now they were on vacation. it’s a short trip but a short trip was better than no trip, right?
“I should’ve brought an extra thermal vest?” hugh joked, hiding an amused smile behind a mouthful of tea. elbows rest on the top of the wooden patio fence. “I wasn’t thinking of much, I’m just glad to be out here. though I should probably start thinking about the thank you gifts I owe matthew and tiana for watching the animals.”
"Skunk dearest.. I know you have so much already but can I continue to give you what little love I can muster? Until I can give a gift more worthy of you?"
