i like to think that Dennis's family still has his social media accounts and he doesn't have the heart to cut them out completely. because of this he's careful about what he posts, or at least limits visibility on anything he posts to make sure they don't see anything they would disapprove of.

but when he develops his friendships with trinity and Javadi, who post literally anything and everything in their daily lives, he doesn't really care if they tag him in things. and that's how his family find out he's a doctor and also that he has friends

bonus points if its thought the suspect challenge and they say "suspect had a crush on our boss and refuses to admit it"
