Contains swearing...snuggles, cuddles and huddles and...sad stuff? Maybe? Is it sad? Did I give you the feels? (Also, the time skips are all over the place. Not backwards, of course, but they do jump ahead in time a bit.)
Cautious, he slipped his jacket’s sleeve off his arm, moving to his other arm and doing the same. He took the jacket out from underneath him, then slowly began taking his red jumper off.
The glitch opened his eyes a little, muttering something incoherent, humming a bit. His eyes flickered dimly, feeling Nightmare removing his jumper, watching it go over his head as he took it off. He didn’t complain, letting his eyes fall shut, still so tired.
“M...mmgh...why...?” He groaned, reopening his eyes, reluctant.
“Because I need to give you something to eat and--” He was cut short by Error groaning even louder, scoffing a bit, rolling his eye.
“Nigh...just...lie down...”
“M’fine...just...hugs...’kay?” He murmured quietly, Nightmare sighed a little, sitting down on the edge of the bed. “Nigh...”
“...do you understand why I’m worried?”
“M...mhmm...” The glitch managed a small grin “...s...sleeping...too much...right...?”
“...yeah...” Nightmare laid down beside him, feeling him shuffle closer to him slightly. “I’m...I’m honestly feeling it...beginning to take some of my magic, heh...”
“O-oh...m’sorry...” Error looked at him wearily, his eyes heavy, barely able to hold them open. “...you can...sleep...”
“What about you though? You...need to eat...”
“...m’fine...” He whispered “...sleep...” The oil monster whimpered quietly.
Immediately, Error shot upright, his eyesight going blurry as he did, light-headed. He grasped Nightmare’s arm, tugging him towards him, his hands shaking madly.
“Y...you’re that...scared?” He stared at him, trying to see any expression on his face, feeling the oil monster’s arms jerk as he began to sob. “N-Night...” He pulled on his arms again “...Night...you’re o-okay...”
In all honesty, the glitch still had no clue how to help Nightmare, how to comfort anyone, even if he tried. Yet, he hauled Nightmare into a hug with what little strength he had, afraid that he had done something wrong.
All the while, the oil monster broke down into a fit of sobs, struggling to stifle them, feeling Error grow more anxious as he continued. It was nerve-wracking, not wanting to make Error upset, but he couldn’t stand watching him so exhausted all the time.
However, it did comfort him, to know that Error still had enough energy to hug him, even if it wasn’t as tight as he had hoped. His tendrils tangled themselves around the glitch, pulling him closer, breathing heavily into his shoulder.
He twitched and jolted, gripping Error’s back tightly, his fingers digging into his shoulder blades, desperate for his comfort. His teeth caught onto his shoulder, his mouth quivering maddeningly, trying his hardest not to hurt him.
“I...I’ve been...thinking and...I just remembered...we need a...name...”
“...oh...but...what is it? G-gender wise?” Nightmare enquired, his voice shaky.
“S...so...umm...if it’s a boy...Armageddon?” He suggested, hearing Error let out a quiet laugh.
“Th...that’s a mouthful...Nigh...”
“Then...what about...Doomsday?” He felt Error move around slightly, snuggling into his chest.
“...mm...sure...” The glitch smiled a bit, liking the name. “And...if it’s a girl...?”
“...uhh...” Nightmare mused, thinking deeply. “...Penance...” With that, Error chuckled, burying his face into Nightmare’s hood.
“...sounds good...” He felt warm, embarrassed, but warm. Nightmare laid down, gently pulling the glitch with him, still hugging him as tightly as possible.
“...you’re so accepting...”
“...love you...” The oil monster released a soft squeal, kissing his cheek lightly.
“Accepting and adorable!” He cooed, Error giggled a little, enjoying himself.
“...you’re...adorable...too...” He shut his eyes, unable to stay awake much longer.
“...would you like me to go to sleep, too?”
“...please, h...heh...” He nestled himself into Nightmare’s jacket, dozing off only a couple seconds after.
“H-hey--?!” He felt the glitch shoot upright, scampering out of the bed, almost collapsing to the floor as he bolted to the bathroom. “E--” He fell silent, listening to him retch, coughing.
He sat still, sinking into his jacket as the noises carried on, fretting the worst. After a minute or two, Error made his way back to the four poster bed, crumpling onto it, curling into a ball. The back of his mouth burned, whining slightly, going back to sleep.
“...I...don’t know what to do, Error...” He mumbled, finally able to speak. “...you’re scaring me and...and I don’t...know what to do...” He laid back down, beside the glitch, pulling him against him.
He laid awake, worried, not wanting to wake up to Error vomiting again. Paranoid, he forced his eye to stay open, staring at Error, feeling his warm breaths touch his neck.
“...Error...” He rubbed his cheek a little “...Killer didn’t say that there were any risks but...what if there is?”
Nightmare sat upright, his eye flickering, lighting up the dark bedroom with a dim, blue glow. The faint light reflected slightly off of the bed’s black frame, as he gazed down at Error, wrapped up tightly in the violet covers.
Carefully, he touched Error’s cheek, his fingertips tracing down his cheekbone, to his chin. Slowly, he slipped a tendril underneath his back, sitting him up, making sure he stayed asleep. He leaned him against the bed frame and lavender pillows, getting out of bed.
He teleported, fetching a glass cup, filling it up with cold water. He returned to Error, sitting down on the mattress, in front of the glitch. He edged closer, pulling at his chin gingerly, opening his mouth. Warily, he poured some water in, watching it carefully as it disappeared into the blue mass at the bottom of his mouth.
“...that should...help with the burning...” He said quietly, sitting back, his eye fixated on Error. “...my eye hurts...” He muttered to himself “...perhaps it’s lack of sleep...or I’m just emotionally drained, it has been stressful these past few weeks...”
He settled back down, letting a tendril take the glass from his hand and place it down on the bedside table. He laid Error back down, his tendrils spinning around him lightly, wrapping his arms around him in the process.
“...I’m so tired, Error...” He murmured, shutting his eye. “...I’m allowed to sleep...right? There’s...no need to worry...”
“...Doom...Doom, be quiet...you’re gonna wake up Night...he needs sleep...” He stirred, listening to quiet hushing, followed by a static-filled giggle.
Nope, still one more page to go, don’t worry. See you there. ;)
