Trying out huel for a bit. I ordered some earlier this month and it finally came in. I struggle with getting decent nutrition and my daily vitamins have been giving me headaches due to the vitamin A content (I think this has contributed to my migraines as well) so I'm going to try out complete meal replacement shakes.
So far I have tried the chocolate and vanilla. the chocolate kind of just tastes like chocolate soylent but the vanilla is pretty tasty I can imagine it's a great base for smoothies.
Normally I eat a lot of canned beans so I'm not to worried about gastro issues due to the fiber content but I'll update if they do upset my stomach.
I like that the black edition doesn't have artifical sweeteners which is something I avoid since they trigger my chronic pain symptoms for some reason.
There are actually non-shitty meal replacement drinks? How did I not know about this
Huel Complete Nutrition Bar
I'm in my Huel era.
Not sure which of my mental health issues it is that makes lunch fucking impossible, but I'm sick to death of standing in the middle of my kitchen, consumed by frustration, knowing I need to eat but being completely unable to want food.
To that end, I am trying a meal replacement shake brand called Huel. I wanted to try Soylent but it's soy-based; soy is high in nickel, and too much nickel in my diet causes my hands and feet to break out in dyshidrotic eczema. I got a variety pack of ready-to-drink bottles and I'm gonna see how it goes.
Day 1: Salted Caramel
The texture of this one is pretty smooth, not lumpy or grainy like some other shakes. Flavor-wise it's somewhere between oatmeal and cake batter with occasional hits of salt, which tbh are really weird and I wish it wasn't there. Salted caramel is still a super trendy flavor but it's not often done well and this is only okay. Bit of an aftertaste but not unpleasant.
Overall: B
75 Medium
My goal is to work out 45 mins a day, drink a gallon of water, read 1 pages, and have Huel twice a day for 75 days. I should end before June.
Day 1: started with walking to the gym, walking there for 45 mins, walking home, taking a progress pic, showering, and now having Huel coffee caramel for breakfast. It’s not as strong as I expected. I had the Huel mac and cheez for lunch. It’s okay, but it’s missing something… maybe red pepper or cayenne..
I'm trying out huel now and it's alright, very void of fun. But it feels very good on my body. I'm not going ott with it like how a lot of people have been doing online, I only have it once a day and then a proper meal in the evening. Its just nice to not have to cook breakfast you know.
However it's honestly so expensive I don't know if I'd carry on once my packs finish
