People have actually laughed at me for thinking Jean could be in Hufflepuff house.

People act like Jean can't be honest, loyal, hard-working, and fair. Apparently, he can't be any of these traits. He wouldn't be the embodiment of what Hufflepuff house stands for, but then again, neither was Zacharias Smith. 

Even if he was in Slytherin house, something that I also agree with to a certain level, it doesn't mean he can't be any less honest and loyal. And maybe even kind. 

Also, Hufflepuffs are the butt of many jokes despite being rather remarkable people, so wouldn't a guy like Jean fit in there perfectly?

Imagine Hogwarts 1st Year Jean Kirschtein being so confident and cocky on the train ride to Hogwarts. Despite being muggle born, he did some research before hand and deduced that he would be best sorted in Slytherin house. So he goes to the castle thinking he's the shit and this whole magic thing is the best thing that ever happened to him. 

Then, imagine the look of shock on his face when the sorting hat gets placed on his head and shouts out: "HUFFLEPUFF."

Jean Kirschtein openly criticized Eren's reckless bravery and Mikasa's sacrificial willingness towards a goal, he also felt loads of remorse after seeing a comrade die at his command and felt guilty as fuck after taking advantage of that death for his own survival.

Jean also openly admitted that he wanted his own squad leader to be wrong right in front of him, and his brutal honesty is the most prominent trait that makes him who he is.

And people really think he'd be a Gryffindor or Slytherin as opposed to a Hufflepuff?
