they find a lot of spare change on the ground. they keep the change in a jar in the common room and whenever it fills up, they use it to buy treats for the entire house l

they organize bake sales to fundraise for issues they’re passionate about, as well as students that need it

they are really good at “overhearing” gossip and spreading it. do NOT let them hear you badmouth their friends

the common room has a pantry of dried herbs, teas, and remedies for any ailment

they definitely have a knitting group where they gossip and plan shenanigans

a hufflepuff christmas

- let me tell you, for christmas, us hufflepuffs, we go ALL out.

- so many christmas COOKIES; like seriously they seem to be multiplying by the dozen; sooo many different kinds. and they all taste AMAZING. i swear, you gain 10 lbs a week. 

- there’s a blazing fire in the fireplace at all hours

- every evening during the month of december, after dinner, everyone gets into their matching christmas pjs and fuzzy socks, grabs a mug of cocoa, and cozy on up together in the common room, and watches a christmas movie

- warm christmas lights are hung everywhere

-there are so many decorations and so much christmas joy it’s absolutely impossible to be a scrooge

- the hufflepuffs have an ever-growing collection of nutcrackers. they currently have 98 nutcrackers, each individually unique, standing tall in the common room. 

- a gingerbread making competition!! oh boy, it gets intense. winner gets to choose the first present of christmas. 

- speaking of presents, in the middle of the common room a grand christmas tree stands tall with a PLENTIFUL amount of presents. hufflepuffs LOVE gift giving. there are so many presents even dudley would be surprised.

-every year, the day before the holiday break, everyone gathers in the common room for a huge christmas celebration. they hold the annual mug swap, and the annual cozy sweater swap. then everyone throws on their sweater, fills their mug with steaming cocoa, and have a christmas karaoke. no one cares how they sound everyone is just laughing, having a good time, and glad to be together.

Clumsy Hufflepuff

Hufflepuff: *walking up the stairs beside Slytherin and Gryffindor with Ravenclaw behind them*

Slytherin: *looks over to see Hufflepuff almost falling backwards due to high heels*

Ravenclaw and Gryffindor: Be careful!

Ravenclaw: *pushes Hufflepuff up while Gryffindor steadies Hufflepuff* step further in so you don’t trip

Gryffindor: you need to be more careful

Slytherin: I swear, this is like the third time this morning

• screaming “RAINBOW!” when there is a rainbow • being excited for autumn because large sweaters • perfectly wraped christmas presents • or failing miserably on them, but adding a lot of little hearts on the name tag so they know it’s from heart • having to stop everytime cute animal is aroung • either pretty and neatly written notes or totally messy notes, no inbetween • screaming “HORSE!” or “DOG” everytime there is a horse or a dog • hugging people they met just a minutes ago • small gifts • buying you a coffee and not wanting anything in return • just because they wanted to buy you a coffee • pins everywhere • not being ashamed for liking that 00′s band nobody likes today • friendship bracelets • loving morning vibes but not being able to get up before 10am • still being kind to people they don’t like, not because being fake, but because it’s decent • cute doodles everywhere • warm colors • homework on time everytime even tho they probably wrote it like two minutes before the class started • finding a good side in everything • being the sunshine of the group no matter how they are actually feeling

Hufflepuffs are...(part 2)

40s music, watercolour tattoos, sonnets, crying at movies, floral dresses and Doc Martins, plasters on cut knees, vintage perfume bottles, intricate harmonies, patchwork cushions, wildflower bouquets, charm bracelets, thunderstorms, comfort food, Studio Ghibli, denim jackets covered with patches and badges, streams that turn into waterfalls.

Celebrating Pride With The Hufflepuff House!💞

- Okay, so during pride month there are a bunch of little rainbow flags around the Hufflepuff common room.

- I mean, this is probably the nicest house in Hogwarts, of course they are going to do everything they can to make their LGBT+ students welcomed!

- Because you all can’t go out for a parade, they throw their own party in the common room, full of stickers showing flags representing all the different sexualities.

- During these parties Troye Sivan and Gaga are blasting but the teachers don’t even care because “let the kids have their fun”.

- Since Hufflepuffs are known for getting pretty overly excited in these types of situations, a lot of crushes are impulsively confessed during this month.

- In these cases the confession is followed with an overly excited response back because both people can barely bite their tounge anymore.

-Even the straight people join the fun, waving rainbow flags around because, why the hell not?

- A lot of people come out during this time because they are just filled with so much love and compassion by all their fellow Hufflepuffs and feel so comfortable and safe.

- “I’m here, I’m queer” is used an excessive amount the month of June.

- And even after June is over, the pride of the LGBT+ Hufflepuffs remains strong because that is one thing that can never be taken away from them.
