I've sat on this one for a long time, because I really wasn't sure what to think about this. My contention has long been that Mycroft goes to great lengths to keep his younger brother safe - as, indeed, his undercover trip to Serbia amply demonstrates - so the torture scene was difficult to reconcile with that.

I think the answer probably lies in that the Holmes brothers have a famously difficult relationship. They antagonise and sneer at one another, make cruel jokes, and Sherlock even attacked Mycroft whilst he was high.  I think that Mycroft's allowing Sherlock torture to continue was a part of that same pattern of behaviour. It's important to remember that the situation was in Mycroft's control, and I doubt he would have let it go too far before intervening.

That's my thinking on the matter anyway. Holmes Brothers taking things too far again.

Thanks for telling us about Cleaning Up, I've been dying to watch it for ages. Really hope they get enough money to make a film.

Yes it is fantastic! I know they were hoping for a big backer when they were doing their short film circuit, but with the funds they raise they will the money to polish it up and get the budget in order. Which is very important for a same production company selling playing in the big league. 

Speaking of which have the rest of you bought your copies yet? [X]
