IT'S TIME! The raffle to raise money for Hull's Drive-In is officially open. Here are the rules:
1) Reblog this post and tag a friend! 2) Every $1 donated to Hull's Land Fundraiser = 1 entry ($5 = 5 entries, $10 = 10 entries, etc.)! Donate here by credit card or Paypal and be sure to screenshot the donation confirmation screen (must do this, or I can't give you your entries): https://www.hullsdrivein.com/donate/
3) Then fill out this form (takes less than a minute) - five questions to make sure I count your entries and can get your prizes to you if you win: https://forms.gle/ZcPgjVTGxcESiRec9 Raffle so far set to end August 1st, but I will extend if we can't get at least $100 more for Hulls by then! Winner will get all items pictured (except for background quilt): a large penguin plushie, an embroidered dress (or a custom embroidered piece if it's the wrong size), a floral painted shirt jacket (or a custom one, if it is the wrong size), two hand-painted bookmarks, two art prints, a hand-designed necklace, and three photographs of Natural Bridge in winter. Best case, you win an over $200 value for $1 (or more if you want more entries). Worst case you donate a dollar or two to a worthy cause. See below for more info on Hull's! Hull's Drive-In is one of TWO non-profit drive-in movie theaters in the entire U.S. It is located in Lexington, VA and run by a team of volunteers called Hull's Angels. It has been open since 1950 and has had non-profit status since 2000. They have always leased their land, but right now they have the unique opportunity to buy it off their landlords if they can reach $350,000 by September 1st. They currently have $108,236 ($241,764 to go). This goal could be achieved by 241,764 people entering for a dollar, 48,353 people entering for $5, 24,177 people entering for $10... etc. The theater is a beloved community spot, and though this raffle is not sponsored or directly affiliated with Hull's, it was created by people who love it or drive-ins in general. The shirt, dress, and necklace are my contributions. The prints and bookmarks were contributed by my friend Savhanna (artist of Herdon Hues). Bob Kirchman, a local photographer, contributed the photos of Natural Bridge, and @/synthestar (Sunrae Ceramics) on Twitter contributed the penguin plushie because they just love drive-ins. Hull's being able to buy their land would guarantee they can remain open for ever and will never be at risk of being bought out by other businesses or people interested in using the land.
