killing dogs in media is grounds for immediate and permanent expulsion from humankind itself but cats? whatever man!!!! who cares about cats amirite!!!!!!!

like i have never seen an otherwise-liked character kill or even INJURE a dog and remain a liked character or not shift immediately into an antagonist in the narrative and the audience’s view

but cats apparently just deserve brutal deaths and characters inflicting pain on them can be forgiven no problem

it’s really frustrating because watching something with a cat in it should be a fun time for cat lovers! and instead every single time a cat is on screen i just wince and brace myself for whatever is coming down the pike
