I was truly humbled visiting the memorial. Seeing the names and knowing innocent people never returned home. Left me gasping for air.

I lie awake at night. Sometimes after a movie, or a YouTube video that allows me to change my perspective and see things from different viewpoints. Right now is one of those moments, it's by no means late... but my mind is running. I just watched Black Panther. Phenomenal movie. But it's allowed me to see different cultures and the way they live, where they came from, and how they've evolved. The world we live in at this present moment is a cold one. And black people are heavily on the receiving end. Not just black people, Mexican peoples, European, Arabic.... everyone even whites. People are so consumed in their pride and heritage that they don't realize the way they are acting. We act upon the fact that our ancestors made decisions we have to live with for the entirety of our lives.. but we ARE NOT our ancestors. We are a new generation and it is up to us to make a change. We need to create and guide to world that we want to see for our children and our children's children. Just imagine, if this whole "cop killing" & "racist" era is to live on and be a prominent thing in our everyday lives. Look at how much it's devised us, & Imagine how much more it will separate us. I believe we are one family. We are one people. Color, Age, Sexual Preference... that doesn't matter. We are all human and we all deserve love. We all deserve to grow up with the same chances to grow and prosper. I hate to know that this is something that we have to start but are so afraid to or don't know how to. Our generation is so powerful, but we need to use our strengths and believe in our abilities. I want to be a part of something positive and something to unify us a humans.
