Alastor who made it to heaven honestly after he died, but he has never felt settled. He doesn't feel he belongs, and keeps to himself because he has a secret that he keeps close to his chest, even from his mother. After finding our about the hotel he convinces Emily to allow him to go down to hell in secret, to help Charlie find out if redemption is possible.

After the events of season 1, Alastor is revealed to actually be Azrael, the Angel of death, in disguise. He was the one who created the exorcists army, and has been keeping an eye on the goings on in hell for many years.

An Alastor that has been stuck in purgatory with dangerous Overlords. He arrives in Hell after Lucifer demands him to be released, and lives at the hotel. He doesn't trust anyone, doesn't understand the workings of hell, and has a survivalist outlook on life.

The Lucifer people assumed we'd get from the pilot. Party guy, king of sin who loves his daughter and wants her to suceed, but doesn't like the idea of the hotel. Redemption would take his subjects and hand them over to heaven, who slaughters hundreds of his people every year.

Golden Chain:

A young Alastor summons the devil for the power to keep his friends and mother safe, and despite his usual refusal of such things, in a moment of sympathy Lucifer agrees to the contract.

After death, Alastors soul is now owned by the king of hell, manifesting in the Palace of Lucifer, Lillith and their very young daughter. None of them are sure what to do about this predicament.
