Left unchecked, my Human!Calamo & Human!Knight (concept by @maareyas) Age of Imprisonment AU is going to developed into a full on story…

Have a few concepts for some important scenes…

These two scenes are for “Trial of the Lost Woods”…

In this AU, all Koroks take the form of Hylian children/teens, and they don’t reveal their identities to strangers. They are magical and mysterious little creatures.

(Something terrible happened before this scene… there’s more angst than shown, as always.)

Some art from the past few weeks featuring Human Calamo and Knight Construct, developed in collaboration with @maareyas. I started drawing before Reya finalized her design for Knight. I think my interpretation of Knight is slightly older, as his age is quite important to the plot/lore/tension.

There was… a lot of self indulgent art (after a long debate with myself, I’m posting some passable ones)🙂‍↕️. And then there is little artistic output.

When stress is at 50-75%, I sketch as a defence mechanism to delay the inevitable. When stress is at 75%+, my survival instinct kicks in and I actually get back to work as a measure of self preservation.

Before I go back into the blender that is work and study and adult life stuff, here are some moments of vulnerability shared by the two. I guess in this AU they are more like (adoptive) father and son.

I have once again succumbed to eczema during this early spring rainy season. Skin is so itchy I can’t fall asleep. So here are a few Human Calamo headcanons…

What if Calamo sheds his hair seasonally and actually has an almost bald patch under his hat during winter.

What if Knight wears a mask because he’s allergic to Calamo during spring.

Calamo attracts a lot of butterflies and bees certain times of the year. (This is very fae coded and I love it.)

Calamo will wake up at sunrise and do yoga. (He rarely oversleeps cus he’s past middle age)

Calamo is good at making kombucha and pickles and sourdough — any that involves fermentation.

Koroks are naturally good huggers.

After Knight is accepted by the Koroks as part of the family, he gets issued his own maracas. 🪇

Calamo has an unknowable number of acorns on his person at any given time.

Unlike young Koroks who travel with gigantic backpacks, mature Koroks travel light. They also have much cooler magic pouches!

If Calamo touches LU Twilight’s shadow crystal, he’d be a squirrel.

If Calamo is half dead from battle wounds, just soak him in a stream or toss him in the shrubs. Usually helps. (I guess chlorinated tap water will deal significant damage to him. /jk)

I originally wanted Calamo to be a heavy beer drinker but hey let’s make it PG13 so he drinks tea and coffee now. (Caffeine and alcohol affect tree children differently)

In the figure skate AU, one time a whole lot of Koroks came out of the Forest to watch Calamo compete. They filled half the stadium. However, the manager has told concession booths to enforce a blanket “no beer for Koroks” policy regardless of how much they argue about their “real age.” Beer gardens suffered financial losses. No Korok got the drink they wanted.
