Looking after your vampire bf has unexpected challenges:
Robby sighs and puts his phone down, smiling, he's sure Dennis will find the picture funny later. With a relaxed sigh and a smile, he watches as the little bat bites his tiny fangs into the watermelon over and over again.
Dennis is making tiny happy squeaks as he goes. Fruit of any kind is his absolute favourite when he's in bat form. Melons, pears, bananas; if it's out when he's flying around their apartment, he will be swooping in for a feed. Whether it's Robby's late morning snack or not.
Because, contrary to common misconception, vampires don't solely consume blood.
In fact, Dennis only drinks the stuff once every couple of weeks or so. Luckily they lived in quite a vampire friendly city, and synthesised blood was easily available. Although, since Robby had recently offered his own neck to his boyfriend, he needed that artificial stuff less and less.
The little bat was tiring now. His bites becoming less 'ferocious' as his tummy filled up with watermelon juice. Robby ran a gentle fingertip from his wide nose up and over Dennis' furry head.
"You all full up now?" Asked Robby warmly.
He cupped a hand next to the watermelon, intent on carrying Dennis to his perch in their living room for a nap. But the bat was determined not to need help.
Determinedly he swung off the fruit and flapped his wings. Desperately going in rapid bursts, before needing to sink down again in tired glides. Once, twice, and then three times the little bat tried to flap-flap-flap his way over there; But he was just so tired and heavy from his meal.
Robby shook his head as he watched. Dennis wasn't even moving across the room at half a human walking pace. He came and scooped the little vampire from the air with both hands easily.
Still being stubborn, his boyfriend wriggled in his hands with coarse squawk like squeaks. So he placed the bat on his tshirt just at the top of his pec and let him hitch a ride that way.
Dennis was much happier like this. Nestled into his big warm giant. He clung on tight with his tiny feet and clawed wingtips. So much so, that Robby found (when he'd walked them to the perch) his boyfriend was determined to stay right where he was. The warmth of Robby's body comforting him like the heat from a surrounding colony would for a true bat.
"Ok baby," Robby relented, petting between their ears and taking a seat on their comfy recliner. Best to be slightly horizontal he thought, in case Dennis shifted back during his nap.
Robby reached over to the side table and picked up his reading glasses and book, settling in for a cozy afternoon.

I hope you enjoyed! I've honestly not edited a tweet like that before so I hope I did an ok job. Also haven't written vampire stuff either, so lots of new experiences with this one 😁. I was a big fan of Gerran's when he was in Young Dracula back in the day though, so as soon as I saw the tweet I couldn't not write something about Vampire!Dennis.
Comments deeply appreciated! 🦇❤️
