I'm not sure now far I'll go with humanizing the side characters, but I figured I should at least do Shepherd
Did I name her after Sasha Velour? Maybe

"Your Radiance, are You well? I've heard that You and Your fellow incarnations are... well, for lack of a better word, mortal for the time being? Is there anything I can do to serve You?"
"Yes," Shepherd says, mouth open in a pause. They lick their teeth. "I'm hungry."
They keep their shoulders low and eyes respectfully downcast, slipping into the embrace with a happy murmur. Almost immediately their form relaxes into the hold
For a brief moment, Shepherd is disappointed that they can’t seem to leech the life force out of this happy little follower.
After some consideration, though, they decide to try to appreciate the affection for what it is. What a foreign concept.
"... I'm cold."
My Guiding Light... may I be... so bold as to ask... for a hug? Forgive me if it's too forward, I simply... wish to feel your comfort and your warmth
"Oh, my child. Come here." Shepherd opens his arms, palms out, inviting. "My devoted are always welcome to my warmth. Take, and be grateful. Kneel, and be rewarded. Stare into the sun and know nothing else."
*bows low* If you need any assistance whatsoever, your Grace, I would be more than happy to serve you.
"That's so gracious of you, my child," Shepherd coos, placing his gloved hand on the greyface's bowed head with a pleased smile. "If anyone tries to hit me again, kindly bring them to me in pieces. As a show of faith."
