Hi, hope you're doing well. I would like some advice on a centaur design please. Its essentially a human mutation that is basically your idea of chalicotheres chimeric twins centaurs but human. The human part is what stumps me tho because I am unsure how they would walk around and how they would be built. I'm thinking maybe making them knuckle walkers like gorillas for the most part and having a build something similar to your own centaur but idk, what do you think?
So if I understand this correctly, a human+human centaur? Fun.
Humans are not built for knuckle walking, but we also just aren't built to walk on all fours lol so you can do knuckle walking or flat palm walking (there are primates in each of those categories, and evolutionary evidence suggests that knuckle walking has independently developed at least twice! it's not an ancestral trait we lost, it just happened on its own in a few species)
you'll also want to shorten the human legs to make a four-legged stance easier. humans have remarkably long legs for primates! they're great for walking upright but not so good at going on all fours.
