The Human Dynamic Project : Introduction
"There is a profound beauty in each person' uniqueness. For some, life is largely comprised of the physical. They feel everything physically. Their joy coms from physical activities, and quite often, they have little patience to sit and focus. Others, see life as hodgepodge of mental stimuli. They are constantly thinking of new ideas and are often happiest doing activities that require less movement and are more mentally exhilarating"
I was inspired to write this entry in my journal a few months back when I was sitting down reflecting on the main difference between my boyfriend, Jeremy, and myself. I find it interesting to this day just how different we are, yet how similar we can also be in the exact same moment. What is it about human nature that has created such a wide array of personalities and quirks? Why is it that even when two people are polar opposites in areas such as hobbies and food preferences, they can also be so similar when it comes to more serious topics such as religion and politics? The human dynamic has impressed and dumbfounded me throughout my life on many different occasions. And, through my life’s subsequent journey, I intend to dissect and analyze as many of these occasions as is humanely possible without interfering too terribly with my relationships and daily interactions. The main areas that interest me are as follows:
Love, and the way we define it. What is it? Is it an emotion? Is it a predetermined feeling that we are conditioned throughout our lives to experience at certain preplanned times? Are humans monogamous by nature?
Religion, and the hypocrisy within. Who is right? Who came first? Are they all just the same story retold to fit a certain culture’s rules and governing bodies? Do we chose our own faiths? Are we simply products of our environment?
Health, and fad diets, and any other lies we have been told. Why are we conditioned to eat meat at an early age? Why do we drink the breast milk of another animal? Why hasn’t the basis of our nutrition changed since the time of cavemen? Why do we ignore facts (plant based life styles and their relationship to fighting cancer) and continue to slowly kill ourselves?
“The human dynamic” as I like to call it, plays an important role in answering all of the above questions. The ways in which we interact all impact our culture, and, in turn, our culture impacts us. Follow me as I delve into the human dynamic associated with each of these categories in the hopes of understanding a little bit more about why we do what we do.
