There are 7.5 billion people on our planet.* When looking at our physical makeup, we are MUCH MORE ALIKE than different. Scientists know that "all human beings are 99.9 percent identical in their genetic makeup."** WHY then do we major on minor differences? I wholeheartedly believe our focus on these minute differences rob us from building meaningful relationships with others. We are ALL very much the SAME: our NEEDS, our WANTS, our HOPES, our DREAMS. Our need to love and to be loved, our want for the best for our children, our hope for bright futures, our dream to live in peace and harmony. Why can't we focus on the 99.9% of ourselves and others that is identical? If we decide to do this, I imagine a world like none other in history. Change begins with a choice. Choose to engage in a respectful and honoring interaction with someone that may seem a little different from you, but is a WHOLE lot the same as you. The more you do things like this, the more natural, comfortable and normal it will become. The 0.1% will no longer matter. * http://www.worldometers.info/world-population/ ** https://www.genome.gov/19016904/faq-about-genetic-and-genomic-science/ #people #human #humanlikeme #humankind #world #population #science #genetics #southafrica #southafrica🇿🇦 #southafrican #southafricans #proudlysouthafrican #southafricanblogger (at South Africa)
