Did you ever give Game of Thrones or the book series a try? I'm not sure if you'd like it... obviously I don't know you but I'd be really interested in your opinion if you had one^^

I did give the book series a go several years ago. Possibly even before I entered fandom. It wasn't to my liking and I didn't even finish the first book even though I'd bought the first two. I'm not going to sit here and make a list of what I didn't like, because obviously taste has a lot to do with it and I've long since forgotten the specifics. A general thing I remember, though, is that I found too much of the book dark and depressing and it seemed pointless in the way it was dark and depressing, so since some things were also borderline triggering for me, I ended up giving it a pass.(Also, endless politics is not my thing either. It's what ultimately turned me off Wheel of Time as well, even though I had been enduring a lot of other bad storytelling in order to get to Mat's romance... Alas, I finally folded 2-3 books before the goal.)
