I think some things are better enjoyed secondhand.

Like, i cant bring myself to watch old-school star trek but when people post about them - i cant imagine better ways to explore the limits of what it means to be human.

I hate tea, but watching someone who really loves tea, make their favorite tea in the world— there's nothing else like it. They know exactly what to add and when. They'll make a face when it's just a little off, as if they've committed this horrible sin.

Some movies feel flat and hollow now, without someone interjecting every 7 minutes with "oooh this is my favorite part-" or "fuck this guy. You're gonna hate this guy" and others could never compare to the half-remembered version someone rambled on about for 40 minutes one night because the power went out

The missing ingredient, in so much, is love.
