Okay but I don't think we've discussed this yet, why did dean give cas the mixtape? Like I know it's a romantic trope and it's so disgustingly sweet and cliche, but why exactly did he make it and give it to cas? was he hoping something would happen or...?
Well, this had literally just happened
It’s Dean’s response… he doesn’t use words so much, he uses actions. Refer to: Love Languages (Words of affirmation, Physical touch, Gift giving, Acts of service, Quality time).
He’s been yelling “what about Cas” for a year, telling him he cares about him but not going the full way, calling him his brother, saying he’s not mad he’s worried, bickering with him like an old married couple, treating him like his husband but just not saying how he feels because he just can’t bring himself to just tell him he loves him.
Then Cas is dying and declares his love (which Dean is so angry about because he doesn’t think he deserves it and doesn’t want to be the reason Cas is lying there, dying, which Cas basically tells him and he’s so angry at himself) but then Cas is OK, Dean is so relieved and maybe realises in part that life is short and….. the next thing we know Dean’s given him a mixtape and acting like he’s been romantically jilted by the way Cas left with no word at all.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I can’t wait for season 13 ;)
