Many pictures of the empty nest. My favorite part is how you can discern all the individual threads around the top of the nest. She is so industrious!

Once again I am giving thanks I didn’t have to build my house with my mouth.

The last one shows that the nest cavity is 1.25” across. No way I could have raised a family in that.

I just finished this piece using a palette knife and my vintage wallpaper roller for the gold effects in the background. Once I had the composition in place I then added some leaves to the nest with a small filbert paintbrush. One of my cats helped me discover this hummingbird nest in my backyard and thought it would be a perfect subject for an acrylic painting! 🪹 I am titling this piece “Out of Office”. 😁 It is for sale so DM me for inquiries.
