I chose Humon Comics because I felt like it was a good mix of what I want when I study queer comics. There is factual information, like in her series about animal lives which study all the different forms of mating and reproduction found in nature. There are beautiful fictional stories with a range of characterization, with an variety of races, ethnicities, sexualities, languages, etc. for as much representation as possible. There is a mix of history and mythology, to enlighten and teach. And there are personal stories, both good and bad, because life is often a mix of both. Her comics really opened my eyes to how people in other countries might think, and that the small-minded beliefs I was used to in Florida were not indicative of other beliefs around the world. I was able to see healthy, beautiful representation of people who were not constrained by today’s societal views without any negativity from the artist or her following, something I had never come across before. -Brandon

Okay so Pathfinder character concept: The Log Changeling
Based off of this bit of Danish folklore (illustrated by Humoncomics) this character is an enchanted log left in place of a human baby some 20 years ago. It’s effectively a hunter, druid or ranger with aforementioned traits and possibly a unique race (that would have nature themed powers and be similar to a leshy or an oread).
I imagine that when the character “dies” they get poofed back into a log (sort of like the Gems in Steven Universe) and they can only be brought back by having another troll restore the original enchantment on the log.
