Duke of Kourim surrendering to Saint Wenceslaus after seeing two angels accompanying the saint. Hungarian School.
A teacher in Hungary punished young students by making them strip their clothes off, only underwear was allowed to stay on. Why? “The girls were running around in the hall.” Some of the girls didn’t have a bra on that day and were forced to walk around without one.
This is horrible, shameful, abusive. I truly don’t know what to say.
04.16.
Last weekend was really awful. I mean I was awful. Everything was good - the weather was gloomy, I could just be happy about my achievements because yes, I worked hard and yes, I practiced a lot, but still not enough. Maybe that was my problem. The last two weeks were full of trials, like concerts, competitions, and teaching... and I felt this need to do nothing for a while. But you know how it goes - it goes like a spiral, when you start to do nothing. You feel shame, you know it shouldn’t stop, the work you did you have to carry on. They were just barriers you had to jump through, but the big finish is still in the far. Not so far, which is scary, but you can’t collapse now. You still have to do everything as hard as possible. So today I decided to toughen up, so I collected myself and now I’m working on my thesis, translating articles, I practiced and I practice some more - and it feels rewarding already.
My point is? You can do it. You can have some rest and no, the world won’t stop and everything will not collapse. You just have to go jump back to the game.
