📍Kiin Contemporary Thai restaurant, quite different from what we used to have for Thai food. Dining area is not very big; indoor design looks great and servers are nice. It is one of those insta-famous restaurants I wanna go back:) 1️⃣Roy Thai: four small pieces of appetizers with distinct tastes. We were asked to eat from left to right in order of the heaviness of the flavour. Personally I liked the one with chicken&shrimp in it (on the most right) the best; the second from the right tasted like some sort of Chinese mooncake LOL 2️⃣Pork Jowl: one of the must-try dish here, a little bit spicy but the spice actually brought out the taste of the pork itself 3️⃣Mussels: fresh ingredients, seafood is always tasty when they are fresh😏 4️⃣Lobster Tom Yum: well presented dish among all, soup was quite spicy, better paired with rice 5️⃣Gaeng  Boombai: we ordered roti and jasmine rice with this. Beef was perfectly cooked with rich flavour. 📍Kokyo We were so excited to try this Japanese sushi restaurant because of some legit recommendation; didn’t expect such a restaurant would actually locate in a pretty sketchy neighbourhood. Inside was good, but not many customers in fact it was only us+another table. The waitress(or maybe the owner?) tried very hard to sell us some of their “signatures”. 1️⃣Spider roll: 🌕🌕🌗🌑🌑 recommended by the waitress/owner lady, the tempura did add the crunchy taste to it but overall it’s just 👌 2️⃣Sashimi platter: 🌕🌕🌕🌑🌑 salmon was sliced pretty thick, dunno if this is called westernized or unprofessional 🤷‍♀️ 3️⃣Sweet shrimp: 🌗🌑🌑🌑🌑 tasted nothing like the sweet shrimp we usually had, texture was more like crawfish; kinda disappointed but can’t really ask for real sweet shrimp at the price like that(half point for the price $4.5 for 3) 4️⃣Spicy scallop sushi: 🌕🌕🌑🌑🌑also recommended by the lady, a bit spicy but not too much, can’t really taste the scallop 5️⃣Negi toro: 🌕🌕🌗🌑🌑 Toro tastes good, but other than that, quite ordinary 6️⃣Uni sushi: 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌑 the only thing I could counted for dining at this restaurant; very fresh uni and just-right amount of rice Personally I don’t really like how the waitress keep selling something so this might leave me a bad impressions not this 💁‍♀️Environment and service: 🌕🌕🌗🌑🌑 🍽Food presentation: 🌕🌕🌗🌑🌑 💰Price: 💵💵💵 🤔Revisit: 🙅‍♀️ #sushi #japanese #japanesecuisine #hungrydaisy #torontofood #torontoeats #torontofoodie (at Kokyo)

📍Le Norte Bistro Came here during winterlicious I really liked how the room is decorated. At first I thought the clock there didn't show the right time, but then realized it was Paris time. 🤗🤗 1️⃣Tartare de boeuf(Beef tartare): 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌗 The yolk on the top created a smooth taste with the carefully-made beef. Several small piece of pickles actually highlighted everything, made the whole dish a distinguished one. 2️⃣Escargot: 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌑 Rich flavoured, but not too oily, well made. 3️⃣Saumon à l'oseille(Salmon):🌕🌕🌕🌕🌗 The salmon was perfectly cooked with crispy skin. I think it was my first time taste the celery root purée: it was quite smooth and unique. 4️⃣Steak & Frites: 🌕🌕🌕🌑🌑 The steak was just alright, would've been better if the chef chose some better cut of the beef. 📍Yu Garden 南翔上海料理 This is one of my fav shanghainese cuisine in GTA. Been here several times, got satisfied most of the time. 1️⃣Duck 醬鴨: 🌕🌕🌕🌗🌑 A bit over cooked but the sauce was alright 2️⃣Jellyfish salad 涼拌海蜇皮: 🌕🌕🌕🌑🌑 Not that fresh at the time we were there 3️⃣White cut chicken小紹興白斬雞: 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌗 Always get this when I come here, never got disappointed. The chicken was soft and well sliced. 4️⃣Pork soup dumpling 鮮肉小籠包: 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌑 Unami soup with thin skin, great as always 5️⃣Special soup dumpling五彩小籠包: 🌕🌕🌕🌑🌑 The new-on-menu is creative but that's it. The red one is spicy; green one tastes like mini version vege bun. Recommended for a night feeling like a bit excitement for your tongue, make all the boringness gone. Still feeling tired from the weekend? Get yourself refreshed at 📍Nana Came here on a Saturday night. It was a small dining area and some of the tables were reserved so we were placed in a shared table. The general impression of the interior design to me is kinda like street food in Thai. 1️⃣Khai Soi with chicken: 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌗 Personally I really like how Khai Soi has the mixed taste of crisps and softness, and this Khai Soi @nana did a great job on this. Soup has rich flavour of coconut and the chicken were nicely cut into pieces and well fried. 2️⃣Boat Noodle Soup with beef: 🌕🌕🌗🌑🌑 ❗️This noodle soup contains beef blood so be careful if you want to order this. 📍Cactus Club Cafe Photo credit to @veryevey Came here for a winterlicious lunch. I remembered been to this cafe when I visited Vancouver, and the beer there was great. Here in Toronto, the restaurant was pretty casual and great for a game on. The day we went there's also a special game menu since Raptors were playing. 1️⃣ROASTED BUTTERNUT SQUASH SOUP: 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌑 Very smooth, and have a pretty rich after-taste. 2️⃣KALE SALAD: 🌕🌕🌕🌑🌑 I am personally not that into kale, but this salad didn't have the heavy kale smell at all. My friend thinks it was too saucy and didn't have anything more than ordinary. 3️⃣THE FEENIE BURGER:🌕🌕🌗🌑🌑 Again I asked to remove all the bacon from the burger since I don't personally eat bacons. Still I have to say this is an average burger and my friend who also ordered this agreed with me. 📍NextDoor Restaurant This Japanese style of brunch place is located in the village of Unionville. It was kinda funny when my friend couldn't find the restaurant, instead he went into an office room nearby since he saw there's a notice saying "please go to the entrance next door"😂 1️⃣Japanese pancake: ⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️🔘 Since I personally don't eat bacon, I substituted the bacon with mushrooms. It was still pretty amazing how pancakes could be this tasty. Rich with umami flavour, pancakes were well made. I think I could prob eat the whole thing again once I go back revisit. 2️⃣Fish and chips: ⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚪️ Chips in pretty big chunks were crunchy and a bit salty.
