How do you think Thomas handled classes being moved online during the beginning of the COVID pandemic? (If you’ve already posted about this you can just ignore me lol)

So I've had this ask for a while and I've been thinking about it. None of my AUs have Covid. I considered doing a oneshot to explore it, but writing is my escape and as someone who almost died from Covid, I can't bring myself to write it.

So I will simply say, Thomas would have quit or taken a sabbatical. I do not see him handling online classes. I don't feel Thomas enjoyed being a professor. He is a filmmaker not a filmteacher. (Some people are just born teachers, Thomas isn't one of them. He's good, but it's not his purpose in life.)

I HC that he was only teaching because he had creative block and took it as his time on the top was over. He didn't want to produce anything less than the very best, so if he was only making a good film, it wasn't good enough so he quit and thought he could give his knowledge to others so that perhaps they could continue what he started. However, once he meets Alex, he learns through watching her grow and discover herself that he has so many more stories to tell and his inspiration returns and he retires from teaching to pursue creating again.

So if the pandemic occurred, I think he would take a sabbatical and perhaps use that time of the world shutting down as inspiration to start creating again. Maybe he'll take out his old Super 8 and see the world with a new (or old) lens!

Sorry for not having aa fun little fic, I tried, but I can't bring myself to write anything Covid related!

The Hunt

This is a group of fae that dates back to near the beginning of the species.  They were organized as a judgmental body for the fae.  A sort of police for certain crimes.  Until the breaking apart of the fae, the Hunt was largely quiet in their tasks, because not much required their assistance.  The civil war of the fae, however, changed this.

The Hunt was one group that was giving permission to remain unaligned, but they could come and go between both courts without incident.  Fae on fae crime was not allowed, even between courts after the peace treaty that ended the civil war.  The Hunt were the group of fae that inflicted the punishment for breaking those laws.  They also kept an eye out for the unaligned when they could.

The members of the Hunt are not widely known.  They keep their identities secret, and membership often passes through families.  At any time, there are nine active Hunt members, but that is not the entire roster of people trusted to work under the title of the Hunt.  Many of the fae among their ranks hail from ancient bloodlines, or they have proven themselves to be powerful allies in conflict.

Without question, the Hunt is the one group of fae all of them fear equally.

HC || The Hunt Leadership

It is never openly known who controls the Hunt.  At it’s inception, there was a single point of leadership.  Now, there is a duo that holds the reigns - Aya and Niall.  This is not known outside of the Hunt.

Gawain and Seona are parental over the younger members of the Hunt.  They are the eldest of the group, and they take pride in knowing the others trust them in such emotional ways.  If you ask the current members of the Hunt to describe themselves, it will always be answers with familial terms.

The Hunt is always a fae only organization.  This does not stop them from working with outsiders, but this was a change implemented under Niall and Aya’s rule.

The Hunt

This is a group of fae which was tasked with the enforcement of fae laws.  They have been around since before the civil war which divided the fae into Seelie and Unseelie.  These fae hold no allegiance to either faction of fae, nor to the unaligned.  In all manners dealing with fae, they are neutral.  

They also stay out of the affairs of dragons, vampires, druids, and humans at all cost.  Does this always work out?  No, but they strive to stay in the shadows more so than other aspects of the supernatural world.

At all times, the hunt is made up of nine fae.  The head of the group is never known to the public - only to the members of the hunt.  They do have a dragon that looks out for them, in secret, Bard.  While the members of the hunt know of Bard, it is rare for them to have any interaction with him; and after the fae civil war, Bard was lost to many of the Hunt.  His whereabouts are unknown.

If I member of the hunt dies, a new fae is voted to replace them.  The Hunt has zero tolerance for the harming of children (regardless of species) and crimes committed against other fae.  They do face opposition at times, which was caused them to become more covert in the way they go about handling their business.

No one will easily know if a fae is apart of the Hunt or not.  They blend in well to daily life - be it in the human world or in the fae world.  They are ancient, in many senses, meaning they have the experience to survive.  It has been centuries since the death of a member of the Hunt, and they would like to maintain that track record.

*This list is not completely known to anyone, save the members of the hunt themselves.  Someone outside of this group would have little chance of knowing that a person on this list was a member of the Hunt.  They could know that they are fae/more than human, but that is it.
