Scientists put heart rate monitors on the Hadza, a group of constantly moving hunter-gatherers in Northern Tanzania, for eight weeks. They discovered that the Hadza spend 135 minutes per day on moderate-to-vigorous physical activity. That’s a big deal -- the U.S. Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion recommends doing 150 minutes a week!
And what did the Hadza’s blood pressure, cholesterol and other biomarkers show?
They had no evidence of risk factors for cardiovascular disease.
