I am firm opponent of building permanent, long term dwellings on our barrier islands. This is nature taking back her home. I get it. At the same time though, this is where I was raised, where my cherub was raised, where my grand is being raised. This is home. This is lives spent on the seashore almost decimated by a hurricane 125 miles off the Pinellas County Coast. Incredible.
