🌪️ Hurricane Oscar struck eastern Cuba near Baracoa on October 20, 2024, causing widespread destruction and flooding. This Category 1 hurricane resulted in the tragic loss of at least six lives. Although it weakened rapidly to a tropical storm, it brought heavy rains, strong winds, and storm surges of up to three feet. Many homes were flooded, and roofs were damaged in multiple areas.

The climate crisis is a current and urgent issue that is costing lives. It is time for us to join forces and combine our scientific expertise to establish a Global Science Center.
