Our muses... slow dancing.
When it came to a gentle waltz, Scott, though through a bit of maneuvering was good about it. His more boisterous, built wife, despite it all, managed to pick up the same with a touch of grace, though far from Scott’s more dedicated goal of ‘grace’ and ‘gentleness’; his wife was rarely either of those things, except perhaps ‘grace’ almost in the battlefield they cast aside together. Ah, but dancing... They were dancing instead. None of that gorier battles to recall.
He took her lowered hand in a reach and lovingly wrapped a hand about her waist. She stepped into place and followed, but, like in many cases, it was up to Barda to really lead; he just reminded her of her feet, her steps... Reaching at her chest, he didn’t hesitate to appreciate where he could rest his cheek for now. He taught her follow’s steps, but she decided, height in her advantage.
But for a quiet evening of minimal dinner fires and no fires to put out with JLA, this was heaven. Gentle music played for rhythm, soft vocals behind loud instruments in harmony. Even if only in pajamas as a tea kettle bubbled and warmed away, Scott, the lovable sap, could turn any quiet moment romantic.
After a long day of work for both parties, it was much appreciated. Under that thick chest and rough warrior exterior, he could feel the soft, but strong thuds of her heartbeat he knew he must have spiked up himself. That was her heart-- strong warrior god heart--, but his to deal with so gently’ its beat lulled him to sleep at night and its beat only inspired his sappiness to continue. She felt him mumble something into skin.
“Hmm?” Perhaps, it was just a hum from him, appreciating what he had so flush to his face in the slower bits of dance.
“Ah, nothing...” He rose a dopey, heart-melting smile between a natural separation of her breasts. “Nothing except ‘I love you so much’.”
She squished him in even closer, a cute smile only reserved for him peeking through. The music continued, but they stopped, just rocking back and forth now-- or her rocking them back and forth for him. “Then say it like you mean it.”
“I love you so much, Barda.” His smile got dopier, if that was possible, but it’s all she needed to hear.
The dancing stopped for good for a moment, but he finally soothed a crabby wife’s greedy, childish need for more affection. As easy as her temper rose, moments like these were why she kept fighting to save him.
Touched, she hoisted him up for a sensual kiss, but it didn’t seem like he seemed to mind the change of pace.
“You beast-- Mmmmm...”
