Winter has always been tough for Ghost, and the colder the weather gets the more he wants to retreat into himself. This doesn’t change when he and Soap are finally able to retire and gain some semblance of domestic peace

On this particular night he’d been pacing restlessly around their small detached garage trying to distract himself with the ancient Triumph he’d been restoring, when the steady sound of sleet petered off into silence. It was snowing. His breaths began to quicken and realized in an instant how bloody COLD it was out here. He’d go inside, that’s what he’d do, he’d go inside and get a cuppa and sit somewhere away from the awful white oblivion of the quickly piling drifts and he’d be ok

When he enters the side door into the “mud room” and bends down to pull off his wet clothes he finds a neat pile of fresh sweats and instantly warms internally

Soap is on their sofa when Ghost comes around the corner, seemingly engrossed in a fantasy novel, but has a fresh cuppa in his other hand stretched out and waiting. It’s perfect

When he’s finished with the tea and sufficiently warmed up, Ghost gently takes the book from him muttering about his shit taste in literature and collapses on top of Soap and before long he’s drifting into a doze.
