HUWEI FROM THE BOYFRIEND 2
Are they the ENDGAME??? I hope they are. 🤞
Huwei and Bomi: An Overthinking Fan's Journey Through the My Boyfriend Finale
Look, Huwei and Bomi are the couple for me. I came to this show like everyone else—they flooded my FYP, I got curious, I binged, and now here I am writing essays about grown men falling in love. Classic pipeline.
What got me was Bomi's sincerity. This man wore his heart on his sleeve for Huwei AND everyone else in the house. Zero dating-a-guy experience? Didn't matter. He still walked right up to Huwei, laid his feelings bare, and kept that same energy until the very last episode. The vulnerability? Chef's kiss.
Now, Huwei isn't out here writing poetry or planning elaborate romantic gestures—that's not his vibe. But in his own understated way, he showed up for Bomi. After their first date, he was locked in. Consistent. That means something.
But then... those last three episodes happened.
Huwei comes back from Thailand and decides only his ex gets a souvenir? ONLY THE EX? Listen, I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt, but my brain immediately went to the pessimistic place. Like, were you just thinking about him the entire trip, sir? Of course, we're working with edited clips here. We have no idea what actually went down behind the cameras. Reality TV gonna reality TV.
Enter my spiraling thoughts:
Yes, they're endgame. Yes, I'm happy about it. But also... does Huwei really like Bomi the way Bomi likes him? We love to say "actions speak louder than words," but words still matter! Verbal affirmation is a love language for a reason! And it's always Bomi initiating, always Bomi starting the hard conversations.
And don't even get me started on that hug with the ex. Was he... was he kissing his shoulder? Am I seeing things? Someone tell me I'm seeing things.
Anyway, these are just my chaotic first-watch thoughts. I'll probably rewatch and either feel vindicated or completely embarrassed by this post. Maybe both.
Netflix, if you're listening: release the deleted Huwei and Bomi scenes. We need them. It's for science.
At the end of the day, I just want them both to be happy—together or apart. They deserve all the love.
(Disclaimer: All of this is based on what Netflix decided to show me, so grain of salt, etc.)
