Cisco loves date night with his Team Flash girls. Iris drives him crazy and makes him laugh, all hot and bothered, while Caitlin teases his mind and keeps him sane, kind and welcoming in her coldness like snow, then Kamilla supports him with his hands in her hair, loyally grounding him in ways Iris and Caitlin can’t, the perfect amalgamation and defiance of them both; room temperature.
They know how to rile him up, because they know him too well. And they always get him rambling about something or other.
This time’s different, though. When he gets rambly on their date nights, the girls chime in and debate him. Caitlin cares about the science, Kamilla’s curious about the nerd stuff, and Iris likes to make them all mad by purposefully getting facts about both wrong and acting all clueless and innocent and downright gorgeous.
This time… he wants to make them speechless.
Kamilla, Iris, and Caitlin cuddle on his bed. Kamilla’s in his Chewbacca shirt, filling the air with sound as she tells them about her new favorite photo she’d taken last week. Iris fiddles with her wedding ring while watching Kamilla’s mouth move, with her legs over Caitlin’s knees. Caitlin’s listening in silently, ever-still, smiling and hugging one of the blushy Chiikawa plushies scattered around his room.
Cisco’s on the floor, rifling through his things.
“What’s this one’s name?” Iris asks for Caitlin, tilting her chin at the plushie.
Cisco doesn’t even have to look at her to answer. He does anyway. He’ll take any excuse to look at any of the girls making a home on his blankets. “That’s Chiikawa himself.”
“He’s very cute,” Caitlin says with a small smile.
Iris winks at her. “Just like the one holding him.”
Caitlin holds Chiikawa in front of her face to hide the grin overtaking it. That gets Kamilla laughing. It’s a beautiful smile, and it’s a glorious sound. Iris looks back at Cisco, biting her lip, proud that she’s the reason for their girls’ amusement.
Cisco gives her a cheeky little smirk, then holds his finger to his lips while Caitlin and Kamilla are distracted. Iris raises a brow, but she doesn’t say anything just yet. She’s good like that.
He gets to his feet and goes over to his dresser. He rifles through the top drawer, grabs three little velvet boxes with both hands, and quickly turns around with the boxes behind his back.
Kamilla lets her laughter die out, which Cisco always considers a travesty, tilting her head. Pouty in her curiosity, Caitlin moves Chiikawa back to her lap. Iris is already beaming this mischievous smile, so she keeps twisting her wedding band around her pointer finger to entertain herself until the big reveal.
“Uh, babe?” Kamilla’s the one to ask. “What’cha doin’?”
“And why haven’t you sat down with us?” Iris questions next.
There’s anticipation in their voices, but it’s light and easy. This… is light and easy. He loves them so much, for everything they have in common and in every way they couldn’t be farther apart. Their jobs made him have to consider the possibility of a life without them too much. But right here, right now, they’re giggly and alive and warming up his bed for him, together. He never wants this to end.
“I have a gift for you three,” Cisco says, excitement hot in his throat.
Caitlin plays with Chiikawa’s ear, noticing the way Cisco phrases his words. “A gift, singular, for all three of us?”
“Oooh, it’s a matching thing, isn’t it?” Iris coos.
“That’s cute!” Kamilla decides, laughing a bit as she gets it out. “I’d love to be matching with you two.”
Cisco can’t help how wide his smile gets. Just… of course they’d figure it out that quickly. They’re each so clever! With their own areas of expertise, of course, but smart’s smart. He wants to hold Kamilla’s hand, kiss Iris, and hug Caitlin, but that’ll have to wait a few more minutes.
“Prepare to have your minds blown,” he says, and holds out a trio of identical, velvety boxes.
Each of them… look a little confused. So, plan’s right on track.
Iris flashes him the ring on her finger. “You already put a ring on me, dummy.”
“This is not the way we talked about proposals.” Kamilla shakes her head, smiling because she’s already guessed there isn’t a ring in any of these boxes.
Caitlin’s the first one to take the box, very gentle with her hands. “And we’re never getting married, but I’m assuming it’s still jewelry of some kind. Necklaces would be nice.”
Iris immediately hums in agreement, then she leans closer to Caitlin to whisper at her. “We’re getting married some day, though, right?”
Caitlin gives her a happy nod, but even so, Iris doesn’t lean back. She just breathes gladly into Caitlin’s smile. Caitlin hands her the soft box, Iris moves that one over to Kamilla’s grasp, taking a moment to circle her fingertip around Kamilla’s knuckle before taking the next box Caitlin gives her.
Iris eyes him suspiciously.
“Can we open them right now?” Caitlin asks.
“Go forth.” Cisco waves his hands. “They’re not fragile.”
Kamilla opens hers first, but Iris and Caitlin are right after her.
They’re earrings. Black, mirrory, jewel-like post earrings with a golden border. Iris recognizes them in a flash. She lets out a familiar squeal that Cisco’s neighbors have learned to hate him for.
“Finally, I’ve been dying for another pair of these after the last ones blew up!”
Bewilderment overtakes Kamilla’s expression, and Caitlin raises her hand. At the same time, they yell: “Blew up?”
“A-huh!” Cisco nods, putting his knees to the floor and elbows on the bed, looking up at the girls. He likes whenever they hang on his every word.
“They’re explosive earrings. Like I said, they’re not fragile, so you don’t have to worry about getting blown to smithereens when you wear them. The tiny explosives only activate when properly thrown by your specific fingerprints. If they fall off, they won’t go nuclear or anything like that. They can’t be jostled into exploding by things like running or dancing or showering or sleeping with them on. The technique to make them go off is super specific, Iris can teach you, you’re all good with your hands. They’re fashionable, you know I know how important that is to us, but they can save your life if you need it, too, ‘cause losing any of you and-or all of you would make life suck super hard and I love y’all lots. D’you like it?”
Kamilla sniffles at him, her lips opening and closing as her smile lines crease. Iris is already taking her other earrings off to put on her new ones. Caitlin hugs Chiikawa tighter to her chest, balancing the box on Chiikawa’s soft head.
Three hot girls, on his bed, giggly and smiley and squealing. Utterly speechless because of something he’d done.
Mission accomplished.
Life goals accomplished, honestly.
Kamilla reaches over to curl her fingers in his hair. “I love it,” she says, once she finds her voice again. “I love you.”
Iris snaps the box closed. Instead of flashing them all the ring on her finger, she shows off the explosives dangling on her earlobes. “Seconded!”
“I don’t think there’s a third version of that,” Caitlin says, “but I also agree.”
Cisco gives them all the biggest grin of the night. He jumps on the bed, making them shout and laugh, play-fights Caitlin for Chiikiwa before he hugs her, and he throws Iris’ other earrings at his dresser. Iris flops on top of him, smiling into his smile. Caitlin snuggles up to them like they’re more plushies at her disposal. Kamilla flanks his other side, interlacing their fingers together, looking up at Iris with a gleam in her eyes.
Cisco chuckles, breathy. “Dynamite gals!”
“Mmm,” Iris hums, “the Incredibles.”
Cisco shakes his head. “You know that’s Wreck-It Ralph! God, I hate you.”
“That’s not what you said a minute ago,” Caitlin says. “You loveeee her, and her!”
“And her!” Kamilla grins at Caitlin. “Just, y’know, different way.”
Iris closes the gap between them, smoothing her lips over Cisco’s own. “And we love you right back.”
And, for that, Cisco might be the luckiest guy in the multiverse.
