Out of the divine, nobody loved mortals as much as Hwanung did. So great was his affection that he relinquished godhood to descend into the material plane to live alongside them. Now he exists as a lesser deity, an Archfey, allowing his beloved children room to grow.
Hwanung is the son of Hwanin, the Jade Emperor in Korea, who looked down on the land of Korea and saw potential in it. He sired his son, the Founder King Dangun, who began the Gojoseon Dynasty.

The room was mostly dark, lit only by purple and green strobe lights. It took you awhile to navigate through the dark maze-like house to find this particular room. The music was incredibly loud, the bass heavy in your chest. You slowly nod your head to the heavy beat, eyes scanning the crowd. You spot a few interesting costumes: a pair of shoes, a werewolf, a Thor. You squeeze past two friends discussing a haunted house, making sure your own vampire cape doesn’t get caught on anything. Your eyes continue searching, looking for a familiar face. You don’t see anyone you recognize right away, so you turn your attention to where the large mass of bodies are dancing. The lights here a slightly more dim, being dominated by the blacklights that brought out the bright colors and accenting the darkness of the whole building.
Your attention is caught by a flash of purple from the corner of your eye. You turn to see if you saw correctly, but no one you know is there. You shrug slightly and move forward into the crowd. You push through more people, slightly grimacing at being jostled around. When you make it to a more open section of the dance floor, you glance around again. Slowly, you let yourself loosen up, swaying a little to the music. Once again, you think you see the head of purple you’re supposed to be looking for. Your feet shuffle in the direction you saw him in, beginning to feel forlorn. You sigh in frustration, not being able to catch the person before they seemingly disappear like mist into the crowd.
Suddenly, your wrist is grabbed and yanked. You’re ready to tell the person off until you come face-to-face with soft brown eyes. Hwanwoong is grinning at you, eyes full of mischief, “Hey.” Despite being dressed in dark colors, sporting a set of horns and a pointy tail, he manages to still look soft, but the mischievousness hidden in his smile suggest otherwise. You tug your wrist away from him, “Hi,” you breathe out. He glances at your costume, “Vampire?” You look him up and down, “A demon?” He bows to you, almost regally. You roll your eyes at him and he laughs slightly, straightening up when he’s done.
He reaches for you again. You raised a brow at the way he grabs your hand again. He pulls you closer, closer than you could handle, and whispers to you,
