marapredatorconservation: The fight against wildlife poisoning is one of the top priorities for MPCP, as it not only threatens the survival of predators in the Mara but also impacts other carnivores and birds of prey.

Since 2014, MPCP has conducted 15 campaigns in markets across the region, reaching over 30,000 attendees. MPCP collaborates with a team from the Maasai Mara Wildlife Ambassadors (MMWA), who use traditional songs infused with anti-poison messages, choral chants, drama, and talks to discourage people from using poison to kill predators.

Instead, they promote the adoption of proper mitigation measures that prevent livestock attacks and support coexistence efforts.

This year, we are committed to collaborating with other stakeholders to address poisoning incidents by providing poison response training and mitigating human-wildlife conflict (HWC).
