PART I
PART II - FINAL
Time to share this story I did in 2011. My headcanons about Reconquista, aka how Spain and Portugal got free of Al Andalus. Sorry about all the obvious technical and horrid mistakes but this was made with tons of love, I swear XD. So, enjoy!
Some history hints, but just little personal HC to take notes:
1. The origin of the fancanon scar in Port's face this was made 11 years ago, Port is canon since 2021 so the scar could be in the face but I can say now... centuries erased it )?
2. Turkey mask is a fragment of Al Andalus' - the desing was based on a real muslim golden mask which was an ornament I found. I consider they hid their face between mortals warriors and soldiers, because their presence as Empires were too strong. The broken piece of the mask after this episode is the rest Ottoman took to himself, and the one you see in Sadiq too.
3. I consider Al - Andalus older than Ottoman, like a big cousin and mentor. After his death/desintegration, Ottoman took strenght and became an Empire himself, reabsorbing his older intro himself / yeah I kinda like supernatural stuff.
4. Al - Andalus gave both muslim names in the centuries he rose them up - Jibrail and Antus, as the muslim tradition dictates; my husband is muslim so I took a good source lol; but in this battle and moment of history, both are rebelled against that, and they became with their original land names. Time after that, Antonio decided to keep the one Rome give him (Antonius) and he translated his brother's name to Gabriel, the hispanic form of Jibrail.
//////////////////////////////// It's been a long time since I've used colored pencils again, long into the world of alcohol markers XD. But it is always good to try them on new places. This illustration is my notebook that can be used in 180 degrees, so landscape things can be done! you can see the division in the chest, but it remains as a single sheet, it can be worked very well~One more art about the Avatar and Hetalia crossover, with Spain and Portugal as two princes of the Water Tribe~ (yes, I love that Himaruya corrected the skin issue, it makes crossing worlds much easier).Hope you like it!
