SHIPPING THEM IS WEIRD AND GROSS. It doesn’t MATTER that they were friends for years before Barry moved in. It doesn’t matter that Barry had a crush on her for all of those years. And it DEFINITELY doesn’t matter that they were only raised in the same house for their teenage years, AND never once even imply they think of each other as siblings (the closest they got was 1. In the pilot. And things changing after a pilot is extremely common but additionally 2. As @shrinkthisviolet has previously pointed out— IRIS IMMEDIATELY SAYS “because we’re not brother and sister” RIGHT AFTER THE ‘kinda like brother and sister’ LINE. CAUSE THEY’RE NOT! Neither of them consider themselves as such. And from that point on Iris only ever refers to them as best friends).

A N D . Jesus christ, as someone with a sibling, as someone who’s known many people with siblings, I will tell you right now— they do not act like siblings. Sure, plenty of different sibling relationships exist; but theirs just doesn’t come off that way At All. They act like best friends (hell, once they’re together they still act like best friends *when the writers let them*!). Never *quite* fully platonic best friends ofc, but best friends nonetheless. And not fucking siblings.

Oops but uh. Yeah ignore all of that cause they’re totally siblings and therefore unshippable. #trustmebro

Oh I’m very glad you asked!

Ngl I haven’t seen Arrow for a while so I don’t remember *too* much about him and his storyline— but you know what I do remember? Arrow 5x17 Kapiushon.

And I remember cause that episode was so fucking Boring to me. Bruh who wants to sit around for 42 minutes to watch Oliver suffer????? not Me! I really really hate characters who hurt characters I like, because I want the characters I like to be happy and not Sad, Miserable, and Whumped.

So Chase torturing Oliver for a week (A WEEK! THAT MAKES ME SO unHAPPY! HE SHOULD’nt HAVE SUFFERED SO MUCH!) just to break him down into admitting his secret? Just painful to watch; very unnecessary. Plus, I’m familiar with the whump genre even though I hate it— dude isn’t even a good whumper. Ruining Oliver’s Bratva tattoo so that every time he looks at it he’ll be reminded of this experience? Amateur shit; doesn’t make me evil grin at all.

Also, in general... Villains who’re obsessed with the hero and whose goal revolves around destroying them in some way are my least Favorite thing ever. Couldn’t name a more boring thing to me. So Chase is the exact kind of villain that WOULDn’t appeal to me.

listening to "the winner takes it all" by abba and had the funniest thought of zoom blasting this in his lair in trophy au. so barry can hear it. because zoom was the winner of the race and all. the first piece of music barry's heard Since. and its just zoom bragging. LMAO

CACKLINGGGG. He fucking would though. I’ve also thought about him blasting circus music to mock Barry lmfao

And this is MOSTLY a crack whump concept but. Having the same song repeat, and LOUDLY at that, over and over again is a lovely (read: awful) psychological torture method <333 I should know! I once did it to myself with circus music for half an hour and was about to explode from it!!

Cause let me tell you—that DREAD when the song’s about to restart. When it’s quiet for just a moment, and you’re mentally begging it to be over for good this time— but then the noise comes back. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME??? HORRIBLE. Excellent for whump! Do not do it to yourself!!!
