Hybrid BTS x Half-ling Reader
You decide to go back with them, wondering what their Clan will think of you.
{Half-lings have ears and tails, but cannot shift}
~*~*~
You stand to the side, feeling multiple pair of eyes, either glaring at you or questioning as to why their leaders brought a human into their home. After greetings, introductions and explanations were given, easing the glares but it seems trust will take a while to gain.
As Jimin leads you to their home, you look about seeing children play and adults going about their day, and everything just seems peaceful and it places you at eases knowing it exists.
You’re stopped by a little girl tugging at your pant leg, a boy at her side ears twitching slightly as they look up at you with large eyes. A young mother runs up to the three of you, apologizing and going to usher them away and the girl looks like she’s about to cry in turn upsetting her mom and brother.
“It’s alright, I take it you wanted to ask me something?” you reassure crouching so that you’re her height, a gentle smile on your lips despite feeling eyes burn into you watching your every move and listening to every word. She nods, shuffling in place as she tries to find the words brightening when she does. “What kind of work do you do?” she asks softly and you smile gently, feeling warmth spread through your chest at the question.
“Well, my job is very important. I work with a friend of mine and we work to free hybrids and shut down places that sell them or free them from their ‘owners,’” you explain and she smiles happily, skipping back to her mom whispering a few words before your attention shifts to the boy who seems hesitant to ask. You encourage him softly, and he comes closer, meeting your eyes once he finds the courage.
“Are hybirds free yet?” he asks, and you feel your mood drop but you do not show it.
“Not yet, but we are working on it,” you answer honestly and he nods his thanks giving you a hug before returning to his mom and you stand giving the young woman a smile.
“I’m Mayumi, this is Saito and his sister Kira,” she introduces her small family and you nod greeting them and sharing your own name, you talk for a few more moments before Jimin grabs your wrist and tugs you away. “What did you mean about you’re working on it?” he asks softly and you shake your head, before answering.
“I’ll tell you once we don’t have ears listening to every word coming from my word and the others are around,” you answer and he nods, you continue on in silence.
When you’re inside, you look around at the art-work decorating the walls and the hand-made furniture which makes you smile softly as you remember that your dad used to make furniture for your house or when you moved.
Jimin gives you a look but doesn’t question it, gesturing for you to follow him into the kitchen. “Can I help?” you ask, and he nods hesitantly not sure if he wants you in his space yet and you sit down and reassure him, he doesn’t have to force himself to say yes to everything you ask.
You see his posture relax slightly but his ears twitch with unease, tail swaying slightly. “My dad used to make furniture,” you blurt and he looks up from the cups, slight interest swims in his eyes.
“He made chairs, tables anything and everything we needed,” you carry on, not taking note of the other six men entering and listening to you talking about your dad to Jimin.
He places a cup in reachable distance, taking a seat away from you but faces you as you turn to face him.
“What happened to your dad?” he questions, heading tilting, brows furrowing at the sadness in your expression. Your eyes move to the cup in your hands, locking on the ring he gave you for your tenth birthday.
“He disappeared a week after my tenth birthday, nothing was the same after that,” you murmur and it falls silent for a few moments before he asks something else.
“Is he the reason you’re working to free hybrids?” he asks, you nod contemplating on telling him or not.
“Partily, the other part is for myself and Jo,” you reply and he frowns you chuckle softly before explain. “Jo and I are sisters, but things happened and she disowned our mo- Layla after she made some choices and did awful things,” you carry on.
“Why yourself though? I understand Jo because she’s a cat hybrid but what are you?” Jungkook asks as the others enter the room, causing you to jump slightly but you manage to give them a smile before finding the will to talk about it after all these years.
“I’m a Half-ling,” you admit and they blink seemingly not understanding.
“Where are your ears and tail then?” Hoseok asks, taking a few steps closer, you touch the bandana on your head, the areas where your ears were, throbbing with emptiness.
You lower your head in shame, sure your tail would’ve curled around you as your ears would’ve flattened against your head.
“They...were removed when I was fourteen or fifteen years old.”
