Should you be this nervous to meet people that you would be working with. I mean Yeonjun had made it clear that it was just protocol to meet everyone. He also assured you that you would only be working with the Kings, but something about that didnāt sit right with you either.
As you walked slowly behind Yeonjun you heard yelling behind a door that he was leading you to. You couldnāt quite make out what the person was yelling about but it seemed pretty obvious that they were absolutely livid.
ā Yeonjun umm can we maybe not walk in there right now I already feel my breakfast from this morning making itās way slowly up my throat and I would hate to have that as everyoneās first impression of meā you let out a nervous chuckle hoping Yeonjun would take pity on you but he only laughed.
āDonāt be silly Iām sure your breakfast will stay in your stomach for the time being and your going to have to get used to the Kingās eventually and right now would be a perfect time to startā
You looked at him confused as he opened the massive marble door into what looked like a ballroom. The first thing that came into your line of sight was a group of people that looked like workers standing in front of a terrifyingly angry man with their heads turned down. Now you werenāt the brightest tool in the shed but it didnāt take a genius to be able to tell that the man was one of the seven kings.
If you werenāt so scared you would probably have told Yeonjun how wrong he was about you breakfast staying in your stomach.
As petrified as you were of this mystery man you couldnāt look away, it was like his aura was making you keep your eyes only on him. Yeonjun must have noticed the confusion dancing in your eyes as he confirmed your suspicion.
āThatās Kim Seokjin the first king, he is the oldest and therefore in charge of taking care of things like what foods and decorations will be at the ball that is coming up and other things of that sortā you gave a slight nod, not wanting your voice to somehow break the king off of his yelling streak.
āNow when I come back I expect for everything to be fixed and if itās not to my expectations well letās just say that your going to have 6 other kings to deal with, letās get on itā
He seemed to have composed himself enough to say his final words but his tone held anything but being calm and collected. As he turned around to walk out his eyes landed on you and you swore every bone in your body told you to cower down to this man and thatās exactly what you did, Yeonjun did the same exact thing but he was somehow able to speak.
āYour majesty this is your new personal maidā Yeonjun slightly elbowed your side for you to speak
āY-your majesty my n-name is Y/Nā you said with a bow as your gaze stayed on the floor like it was the most mesmerizing thing you had ever seen in your life.
āInteresting, has she met the others Yeonjun?ā he said as his eyes slowly made their way up and down your body like he was studying you then slowly they made their way over to Yeonjunās.
āNo sir we havenāt finished the tour yetā Jin nodded his head in understanding as he looked back over to you.
āI want her in our room in 30 minutes you can finish the tour another timeā that was all he said as he made his way out of the door disappearing out of your view.
You began to breath normal again we you couldnāt see him anymore something about his presence didnāt sit well with you but you couldnāt put your finger on it. You just shrugged it off as first day jitters or maybe just the fact that Jin was a very intimidating person.
You looked at Yeonjun waiting for his next move when all of a sudden he grabbed you by your wrist and started dashing toward the door.
āWhat are you doing?!ā you asked confusion lacing your voice
āKing Jin said he wanted you in their room in 30 minutes and everyone knows that when he says 30 minutes he really means immediately and we still need to get you out of this attire that you have going on and trained on how to speak to themā
You gasped as you took great offense to his comment about your clothing, your mother had made these clothes for you as a gift for getting this job at the castle and in all honesty she doesnāt really have the money for good fabric. But she made your outfit out of love and thatās all that mattered to you.
āWhatās wrong with my clothesā you asked slowly getting agitated.
āNothing but itās not appropriate for meeting the Kingās, so less talking and more walking we are running on borrowed time here.ā
You dropped it knowing that sometimes you have to pick your battles and this one was nothing compared to the battle that you were about to faceā¦ but nothing could have prepared you for what was to come.
