Back to the basics. After running into yet another roadblock in my first draft of my WIP, I’ve decided to go back to the drawing board. Perhaps, I’m not a pantser or discovery writer—at least, not fully. I’ve decided that since this is a project that I plan to be standalone, I could try to plot it a bit more than I would normally plot or plan a book. If I use what I’ve gathered during this time, then great. If not…well, at least I have something to look back on in order to help me get out of a tight spot in my writing. I’ve had two (going on three) brainstorming sessions so far and I’ve enjoyed each and every one of them. The ability to allow my creativity to flow without the pressure of writing words down in a draft is amazing. I wish I would’ve convinced my stubborn brain to do this sooner. * * So what about you?
